I've stayed in several inns in Europe and the Brightwood Inn although they label themselves a B&B, runs more like a small inn. This is not a bad thing. After reading the reviews, I can see why others felt the service was lacking but really it's just different than a typical B&B where the owners live in the house and... More

This B and B hit the spot. My wife and I spent two nights here. The location is only a few minutes drive to the parks. The moonlight shining thru the big picture window while laying in the big tub for two was perfect. The owners made is feel at home.

We stayed in the Mallory Square room. What a wonderful view of both sunset and sunrise. The view is over looking a naturalistic prairie land. It was nice to have the windows shades open all day and night without worry about intrusive on lookers.

My husband didn't want to stay at a B&B, to much close contact you know. This place is a labor of love for the owners. The rooms are spacious and clean, we had our own balcony. There are many sitting areas out and in so you can sit with people or alone. Home made cookies, nice breakfast. The owner gave... More

We stayed in the Tortilla room. What a beautiful room and made for romantic get away. The view was great also out of the picture window. The bed was absolutely wonderful, best bed I've ever slept in. Really liked that we had an hour to work with to arrive for breakfast. They asked us to be there between 8:30 and... More

The Inn has friendly owners, lovely rooms and a great breakfast. It's located just minutes from the entrance to the two state parks and "downtown" Utica as well. I'm not sure what more you could want from a place to stay in this area.

We have stayed many times at the inn. Love it! Very quiet and peaceful. Close to starve rock and very clean. Love all the rooms. My husband and I had a very romantic weekend. The breakfast was filling with homemade muffins and excellent homemade granola.

We had such a good experience staying at our first B&B. It was very cozy with a fire place in each room, and a gathering room with a fire place where we visited with friends in a very comfortable setting. Jo and John and Patricia made us feel very welcome and answered our questions about the area very knowledgably (I... More

I stayed four nights at Brightwood Inn in the golden and green countryside near Starved Rock State Park. The rooms and entire Inn were peaceful and clean. Best of all, were the owners, Sharon and Kevin, who did all the care and nurturing of guests themselves. Kevin is a fabulous cook, making original and delicious breakfasts like Peach Melba Casserole.... More
