We really enjoyed our stay at the brightwood Inn! We arrived and found that we had rented our room to another guest (not a problem, as we were upgraded to a whirlpool suite!), which was a pleasant suprise. We found the innkeepers to be very friendly and accommodating. Our breakfast the next day was yummy, they use fresh herbs from... more

I am from the area and couldn't think of a more quaint place to stay for my wedding night with my husband. We arrived pretty late so I only saw the room. We thought we were greated with a bottle of champagne..compliments of the Inn. Our room was pretty nice (except the fact that the door didn't lock) and the... more

My husband and I (with our 2 teenage children) stayed at the Inn back in June. The owners are lovely people. The food was wonderful. We stayed in a large room upstairs with a balcony. The room was clean and large enough for everyone. It was nice to find an inn that could accomodate a family in one suite. We... more

I stayed 2 nights at the Brightwood in and had a wonderful time. The inn was full of couples, three of which appeared to be honeymooning. Since it is an inn, you can't expect the types of choices that are available at hotes, such as room service and an extensive menu. but, not every hotel comes with a large whirlpool... more

We stayed three nights at the Brightwood Inn at the end of May. It is located in a beautiful country setting, bordering on the Matthiesen State Park. Our room, the Mallory Square, was big, bright and clean, with a massive twin-tub in the bathroom and a nice balcony for listening to the odd coyote at night! Our hosts, John and... more

I like to stay in B&Bs as I travel alone a lot and this was a very nice choice for me. I stayed in the Mackinac Room and I thought it was very spacious. The carpet needed to be replaced and the bedding was a little dated, but generally it was comfortable. The bathroom was huge and had a whirlpool... more

I was a little nervous about our stay at the Brightwood Inn based on other reviewers but I have to say I feel bad for those of you who didn't have a great time. First off, the Inn is beautiful and is situated on lovely grounds surrounded by Mathiessen State Park. We stayed in the Mackinac Room which was very... more

We choose B&B'S because they are so accommodating for people with allergies to some foods. My hubsband needs to eat GLUTEN FREE. Its very easy to cook that way but we always email first. After emailing 3 times, asking if they are getting them, they finally emailed us back. VERY SHORT. Not welcoming or helpful. I thought I would call... more

The Brightwood is an outstanding property in a quiet country setting. The common areas of the inn are tastefully decorated, and the grounds and surrounding areas are idyllic. The room we had (like most there) had all my wife and I look for in a get-away spot: jacuzzi, fireplace, DVD/VCR, upscale decorating.) However, upon our arrival on Friday (after we... more
