This hotel is a mile from the base. We stayed the weekend to be with our son so being so close gave us more time to spend with him. The people who work here are the best. We had 2 girls with us so we went through the towels! No matter what we needed they supplied. We had forgotten our hair dryer and they had one we could borrow. Flanagans Restaurant is within walking distance... more

This Inn was/is very well cared for in the individual rooms, the common areas, and the landscaping. Pride and care showed in the way it was/is maintained. I was at someone's home not a cold impersonal hotel. My room was very clean & relaxing. Pride & care show everywhere. Anyone going to the US Navy Pass In Review, held every week, will find this a grand place to stay. The Staff have almost all the... more

We went (mom daughter and myself) to see my sons naval graduation. We stayed 3 days. Red Carpet Inn RTC wasn't the newest hotel. It is the closest to base (1 mile) it was the cleanest hotel I have ever been to. It was approx $70 TOTAL per night. The staff was the friendliest I've ever seen. They went out of their way on many occasions to make everything minute of our stay the best... more

I had to attend my son graduation, and of course looking at the brochure from the training center that was sent to me, I choose the Red Carpet Inn because it was known to be closer than any other Hotel. My only fault was booking at the last minute and having to take a smoking room which was just disgusting. The room needed an extreme make over and it was very dark and depressing. The... more

I want to save all people from the terrible experience of staying at this Hotel. The Hotel carpet made our feet BLACK and we could not sleep at night because of some sort of mold growing in the room. It was a discusting Hotel and probably a serious Health Hazard to all. This place should be investigated by the health department and shut down. They claimed their beds were new and they had to be... more

Since we flew into Chicago for our son's Naval graduation, we were without a car (btw, use Airport Express out of O'Hare for a reliable shuttle to the hotel and back to the airport). This hotel is surrounded by a good-enough restaurant and convenience stores for those of us who had to use our feet to get somewhere. This hotel appears to be dedicated to the Naval graduation ceremonies; they will get you there on... more

This hotel is your typical " middle of the road". Do not expect to be impressed but it is clean and comfortable. Our afternoon check-in was with a man of possibly soviet nationality. He was somewhat rude but efficient. The morning staff however was EXTREMELY courteous and helpful, going above and beyond to make suggestions and give directions to places to see and do with our Sailor. Also , the shuttle to the PIR is... more

We stayed at this hotel for our son's Naval graduation and were ok with it for the most part. They advertise a Cotinental breakfast but it's not. What you get is some bad tasting coffee, frozen OJ and a box of stale donuts. Only the front desk person spoke english while the rest of the staff, though friendly, spoke only Polish. The room was clean but very old and in need of paint. The toilet... more

We were at the Navy Boot Camp graduation, and I found this hotel from their brochure. We booked a smoking room, which was ok, but the mattress had a huge hole in it where someone had burned it. The sheets were different colors and old & worn. There were holes in the walls that had been sort of covered over and some that looked like they had just given up. Our door lock had pry... more

I stayed at Red Carpet for sons graduation. When I first got there I thought this would be "ok". I got to my room and it was very out dated. Looked very old and needed paint in a bad way. The room was clean and that was the best part of it. The 2 full beds were a little larger then a twin. They were very cheap and very hard. Bedspread stained and was disgusting.... more
