Stop searching for hotels in Nauvoo and call Heather right now! Everything about this place is awesome. Loved everything about it. Wouldn't change a thing. The free bike rental was a huge hit with the kids. Hands down the BEST way to get around Nauvoo and see the sites. I wouldn't even THINK about staying anywhere else in Nauvoo!

Most of what you come to see in Nauvoo was literally a block away. With the free bike rental (as part of staying at the Inn), we had no need to drive to ANY of the sights. It was an absolute blast biking around to the many MANY places to see, from the Smith Family Cemetary to the Nauvoo Visitor's... More

We stayed at the Willard Richards Inn as party of our honeymoon. It was the perfect get-away in Nauvoo. We were given a wonderful historic tour of the Willard Richards home itself. The air-conditioning was a must. And to top it off, we got a free bike rental along with our vacation! My wife and I enjoyed it thoroughly! -Chris... More

My wife and I loved staying here. We got to stay in the Riembold Room which for my height was a tiny bit cramped, but I loved it anyway. There was no TV but we enjoyed the vacation so much more without it I think. We stayed at the Hotel Nauvoo one night when the Willard Richards Inn and it... More

My husband and I stayed 3 nights at the Willard Richards Inn in early June 2014 and loved every minute. Heather and Shane are gracious hosts, friendly, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable about the history of not only their inn, but the Nauvoo area as well. Our room, "Anniversary", was furnished with several period pieces as well as an extremely comfortable... More

We traveled to Nauvoo by train with our 4 young children, ages 8 - 2, we opted not to get a rental car since the Willard Richards Inn is only 1 block from the historic sites. We were able to use the complementary bikes to ride around the sites. Seeing Nauvoo on a bike was a great experience and the... More

We had a great stay at this inn. It is perfectly located to all of the historical sites and a short walk to the Nauvoo Temple. The proprietors are very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable about the entire Nauvoo area and experience. The inn itself is a historical site and the tour is great and very interesting. It was very quiet... More

We had an excellent stay at this inn (extended family traveling together). The location could not be more perfect - within walking distance of most everything. The inn is quiet and peaceful, filled with history. Great organ in the common room and period pieces throughout the inn. Bike availability was a lovely extra (modern beach cruisers), as were the daily... More

Location is right on the edge of historic Nauvoo. The house is very comfortable, as long as you don't mind some stairs. Easy 5-10 min walk to the LDS temple just up the hill, free bike rental for guests, complimentary hot chocolate and popcorn, and continental breakfast. Beds were comfortable, and the room was clean - but old as the... More

The Inn is located right in the middle of the historic area of Nauvoo, IL, affording easy walking, or bicycling, to other sites of interest to visitors. The hosts are a friendly and interesting family who are eager to be of assistance. Both the public rooms and the bedrooms are filled with interesting objects of the period and location. Everything... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Across the street from the Nauvoo Pageant stage, the Willard Richards Inn is the only accommodation located in the Historic District of Old Nauvoo. It is the actual property of the Apostle Willard Richards and full of history and stories from when the Richards lived here to after the Saints went west to settle Salt Lake City. A big part of the tour of the house is the wine cellar that was built in the 1860's out of the scavenged stones of the original Nauvoo Temple. This historic home is surrounded by the masterfully restored homes of Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, John Taylor and Wilford Woodruff just to name a few. Instead of simply visiting the historic sites, why not stay in one? The Willard Richards Inn boasts beautiful views of the Nauvoo Temple and is only steps away from the Nauvoo Pageant stage. Guests of the Willard Richards Inn also receive a complementary bicycle rental to make seeing Nauvoo as fun as possible. If you are looking to make your trip to Nauvoo an experience to remember, there is no better location in town to experience the history and spirit of Nauvoo. ... more   less
