We just got back from a family wedding in Nauvoo and spent 3 nights in the Willard Richards Inn. Staying at the Willard Richards Inn was the perfect choice. The location, in the Historic Old Nauvoo, was ideal for visiting the sights. You can't get any closer! The Inn itself is beautifully restored and charming. It was quiet, clean, comfortable.... More

Staying at the Willard Richards Inn was the best place for us to enjoy Nauvoo. We were down in the historic district. We enjoyed staying in a historic home that was beautifully maintained. The family loved the beach cruiser bicycles that came with our stay. Ask to see the wine cellar that was made from stone from the original Nauvoo... More

Staying at the Willard Richards Inn was the perfect Nauvoo experience. We spent two nights there and wished we could stay longer. The home is comfortable and authentic for the time period. The hosts were wonderful, friendly and we especially enjoyed the historic knowledge they shared with us. We rode their bikes all over Nauvoo. We could not ask for... More

This was one of the best and quietest places I have ever stayed. Shane and Heather were wonderful hosts. When we go back to visit Nauvoo, we will stay there again. This really added to our Temple experience while in Nauvoo. We will stay at the Willard Richards again when we return, thanks for the wonderful memories.

We came to Nauvoo to attend the temple and see the sights. Staying in Willard Richards home provided the perfect atmosphere for the trip. Being able to read the history, and then feel connected to it by staying in there home was a highlight of our trip. The rooms are very comfortable, the Kesters friendly and knowledgable about the history... More

My husband and I stayed one night at the Willard Richards Inn, in the Reimbold room. The host was very friendly and knowledgeable. The town is so rich with history! The stay was peaceful. We didn't interact much, we were tired and were left in peace (by choice). Was very happy our privacy was respected. If you want a relaxing... More

I and two of my children stayed here the weekend after Thanksgiving, 2013. Seeing the photos of this historic inn did not do it justice. Upon arriving we were welcomed with a sign outside the door welcoming us by name. We fell in love with the charm and quaint elegance both inside and out. The family made us feel so... More

we had the opportunity to stay in the Willard Richards Inn, a quaint B and B in historic Nauvoo. It was a wonderful place but the thing that set it aside was the wonderful family running the Inn. We received a historical tour of the inn and were treated to a family willing to share their time with us or... More

We were looking for a place on a last minute trip on our way home thru Nauvoo. We weren't going to arrive until late at night. The owners were very kind and willing to work with us and our schedule and family. They were very accommodating on multiple levels. When we plan on coming back again we will be sure... More

We greatly enjoyed out stay at the Willard Richards Inn. Aside from the great rooms and great location, we really appreciated Shane and Heather taking the time to talk to us about what to visit and explaining the history behind the inn, including the amazing cellar with temple stones. They were the perfect hosts and anticipated our needs before we... More

Across the street from the Nauvoo Pageant stage, the Willard Richards Inn is the only accommodation located in the Historic District of Old Nauvoo. It is the actual property of the Apostle Willard Richards and full of history and stories from when the Richards lived here to after the Saints went west to settle Salt Lake City. A big part of the tour of the house is the wine cellar that was built in the 1860's out of the scavenged stones of the original Nauvoo Temple. This historic home is surrounded by the masterfully restored homes of Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, John Taylor and Wilford Woodruff just to name a few. Instead of simply visiting the historic sites, why not stay in one? The Willard Richards Inn boasts beautiful views of the Nauvoo Temple and is only steps away from the Nauvoo Pageant stage. Guests of the Willard Richards Inn also receive a complementary bicycle rental to make seeing Nauvoo as fun as possible. If you are looking to make your trip to Nauvoo an experience to remember, there is no better location in town to experience the history and spirit of Nauvoo. ... more   less
