We had a great experience all around. We loved the atmosphere, the Inn is relaxing and comfortable. The breakfasts were fantastic. Room accommodations are what we wanted for a getaway weekend. Eric and Heather were great hosts. Proximity to the wine trail and being close enough to restaurants is a plus. Good balance of being away from it all but... More

This is a great B&B that makes use of green technology , is warm and inviting with lots of attention put into detail and amenities and top that off with perhaps the best B&B proprietors we have experienced. Read other reviews. The breakfast is incredible with fresh and healthy ingredients. We had a bonfire the last night and the staff... More

My boyfriend and I's first mini vacation together. We couldn't have asked for a better location, place, and people. It was serene and beautiful. Eric and Heather were great hosts, the food was amazing, the place was clean, the bed was perfect! :-)

Great place to stay. The host was amazing and his cooking skills are beyond fantastic. I'd recommend to anyone! The rooms are gorgeous. The water temperature is a little wonky but it's still worth every penny! Five stars.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Makanda Inn. Our cottage was beautiful, the price was right, and the inn keeper was very pleasant and helpful! We look forward to going back when we can stay even longer!

This was our fourth time staying here. We live in the area, great for weekend getaways. Inn keepers are friendly and wonderful cooks, beds are comfy and rooms are clean. Close to downtown Makanda and the Southern Illinios wine trail.

The Makanda Inn was so much more than we even anticipated! My boyfriend and I were looking for some respite from the holiday shuffle, and wanted to head to southern Illinois for a few days. As you may or may not know, there aren't many options in So IL. It took several hours of searching, but we finally found this... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Makanda Inn! Before checking in we explored the mini-strip and met Dave, a local coppersmith, as well as visited the other few stores in the area where eclecticaly-themed souvenirs are in abundance. A few miles down the road is Giant City State Park, which was beautiful, even in the rain and 40 degree... More

My daughter Emma and I were looking for a quiet and lovely place with good food & in range of the wonderful hiking spots of Southern Illinois for a Thanksgiving getaway. We found all that at Makanda Inn, and such a warm, relaxed welcome from Eric and Heather. Her breakfasts were both substantial and delicious, easily carried us through a... More
