The family has turned the Band B into a boarding house so if you need a long term stay- this is the place but you will have to make your own food. So long and thank you for all you gave to Macomb through your wonderful hospitality.

Inselhaus is our "home away from home" when we're in Macomb and there's not room with my mother (which, admittedly, isn't often, but I've stayed here several times) down the street.  That being said, you won't be staying at my mother's house, so stay at Inselhaus. The details:   The rooms are comfortable, both in appearance and accommodations.  The decor... More

One of our friends gave us a gift certificate for a one night stay at the Inselhaus as a wedding gift. My wife and I are both in our mid 20's and had never been to a B&B before and honestly we always though we were too young to enjoy a B&B. However since we received the stay as a... More

All year long, there are fine art and cultural events at Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. The town square is full of interesting shops, two really excellent restaurants, and a tall and elegant courthouse in the center. We would never have gone to Macomb, which is in far West Central Illinois, except that we heard about the fine European... More

I stayed here for one night in june 2011. I was on campus for an interview and couldn't have been happier to stay at the Inselhaus House. Dorothee was wonderful and the place was well kept up and very charming! She gave me some homemade deserts when I arrived and brought coffee to my door in the morning. I would... More

Dorothee is remarkably welcoming, and the Inselhaus is lovely and charming. Having traveled a lot recently, I was tired of the usual hotel, and wanted something a little more cozy. I found Inselhaus, and read other TripAdvisor reviews - and they're all true. Even travelling for business, this was absolutely perfect. We arrived, were welcomed, shown to our rooms, and... More

The Macomb hot air balloon rally weekend was a fun time in a small town. The Insulhaus B&B provided a beautiful comfortable stay: the helpful innkeeper provided a wonderful breakfast in a well appointed quaint dining room ( we could have chosen breakfast in bed). We watched the balloons lift off, and followed some of the chase trucks. When one... More

We stayed at this wonderful B&B for three nights and felt completely pampered. The old home was beautifully restored, the owner attentive to every detail, the food outstanding. We couldn't have had a more lovely stay.

My husband booked a 3-night stay at the Inselhaus B&B when we made plans to attend a music festival in the area. All the mainstream hotels were booked or over-priced, and as neither of us have stayed at a B&B before, we thought we would give it a try. And we're so glad we did! In a nutshell, the Inselhaus...
