My husband and I have stayed at Hidden Lake Bed and Breakfast twice, and both times were wonderful. The cabins are modern and clean and the owners are very responsive to requests. Most attractions are within a 30 minute drive. We really enjoyed the wineries and Cache River and Giant City State Park. We will definitely be back! We stayed... More

We stayed in the two-room Tuscan Suite, complete with kitchenette (no dishwasher) and whirlpool tub. The accommodations were spacious, tastefully decorated, and immaculate. It's a guest house (rather than a hotel) on a quiet street on grassy acreage. A good base for exploring the area, particularly the Illinois Wine Trail. Our hosts also included a DVD of area attractions, so... More

Who cares about breakfast when you get to enjoy this absolutely perfect retreat. You will be greeted by a sweet smile and a warm wow i am home feeling. The rooms are perfect, absolutely spotless and the attention to detail is obvious. The little things here are to many to mention but believe me there are a lot. I do... More

The owners were very friendly. The suite was clean and decorated beautifully. It sits just outside of town, so we enjoyed the quiet peacefulness, and were still just minutes away from town if we needed to go get anything.

We used HLGH as our base for traveling the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail. We enjoyed the convenience to the trail, Jonesboro and Anna while HLGH offers reasonable privacy on a dead end road. The suite was perfect. We understood breakfast was not an option prior to arrival - not a problem for us. This a great gem where you might... More

What a precious little gem nestled conveniently near some of Southern Illinois' best attractions! Easy to find too! The new owners are very kind and have thought of lots of little things to make this place an ideal romantic retreat. Definitely a place we will visit again!

We have had the opportunity to enjoy many pleasant stays at Hidden Lake while visiting our daughter and her family who live in the area. Mary Jo and John are excellent hosts, their breakfasts are fabulous, and the rooms are beautiful, comfortable, and immaculately clean. They know the area well and always have suggestions for unique places to visit and... More

We stayed in the Tuscan Suite. It had a beautiful mural on the wall, Jacuzzi tub, kitchenette, separate bedroom, and balcony among other things. The property had a lake with paddleboat and fishing. There was a fire pit and a small trail. The owner really put a lot of thought into the details such as snacks, drinks, games, movies, robes... More
