Although I only stopped here for lunch while passing through on business, I took some time to look around the grounds. The lodge is beautiful and the many small cottages around the grounds for lodging are very nicely done. It looks like a small community as opposed to a regular lodge. Very tastefully done. Love the iron chandelier in the... More

My wife and I made our annual anniversary getaway and opted to stay at Pere Marquette Lodge. It was perfect. We chose a cabin, which proved roomy and warm. Not a lot of high-tech gadgets, but the point was to get away from them. The lodge itself is a real lodge, built in the '30s with a giant fireplace and... More

Pere Marquette and the surrounding area in early spring are well known for bald eagle watching. We felt privileged to see one mid March. The hiking trails in this state park are fantastic with several short trails and others much longer. The topology of the area is not flat so expect to hoof it up and down the hills. It's... More

We stayed in a cabin unit, which was very comfortable, and gave you the "up north" feeling. The cabin did not have a fridge or microwave, which was a disappointment, but we loved everything else about it. The grounds are beautiful, my son fished across the street at the river and had a great time. We stayed during a slow... More

Pere Marquette Lodge is a great getaway location. My husband and I really needed somewhere that we could unwind and this hotel had it all. Great ambience, good wine, great food, beautiful pool, hottub & sauna and was very quiet. There were a lot of people at the lodge this weekend, but our room (on the first floor) was very... More

We stayed at this location for a single night while visiting the area and found it to be very nice. We stayed in one of the four-unit cabins that have very thick stone walls. Since it was in late October, the colors on the trees had already disappeared but the crunchy leaves underfoot and the clean, clear air more than... More

I visited Pere Marquette Lodge five years ago and ate the fried chicken for lunch. I dreamt about that chicken! I returned last week and re-ordered and it was just a good, We were driving along the Great River Road but it was a grey day (this trip is at its best in the autumn) and very few people were... More

We have brought our grandchildren here many times over the years. There is lots to do...eagle watching, great hiking and walking for all fitness levels,a bike path along the river road, large indoor pool and a small visitors center. In nearby Grafton we have crossed the Brussels Ferry on the Illinois River. This year we did a pricey but fun zip-line experience... More

We stayed in one of the cabins. It was nicely equipped and quite large. Check-in was delayed and it seemed like more staff was needed all around. We ate at the lodge the next morning. The breakfast buffet was generic. Nothing special but reasonably priced. The park is very beautiful in the fall and the bike trail is very nice.

We enjoyed our stay. The lodge itself is nicer than the rooms but they weren't bad by any means. The biggest improvement would be to replace the flooring in the bathrooms. The old lodge rooms were actually quite spacious. The river view was nice as well.
