Stayed at the lodge for a weekend night before a trail run with my wife. Rooms were plain, but clean. It was nice after dinner in Alton to hit the hot tub and one last glass of red wine. The bar was just a few steps away from the pool. This is not a bad spot to set up shop... More

Recently we attended my nieces wedding reception at Pere Marquette Lodge. Instead of driving home late at night we reserved a room in the lodge. We were not disappointed, the room was spacious and beautiful. Our king bed was very comfortable. We had breakfast in the restaurant the next morning and the food and service were great. The lodge itself... More

If you're looking for natural beauty with an traditional flare, this is a great spot for you. With miles of trails right out the front door, wildlife, and the river views, you'll enjoy the stay for the price.

We continued celebrating my mom's 80th birthday here after dinner at Tony's in Alton. Very nice, quiet, ultra-clean accommodations. Keurig coffeemakers in the rooms. Easy check-in. Views of river and grounds are very good. We got together in the wine bar, and it was like our private party room. You can get food from the restaurant delivered there until 9:00.... More

What a ripoff. We arrived little after 11am on a Saturday with 4 adults and two children, ages 2 and 4. Were seated, received our water and menus, ordered promptly because most know it is difficult to wait with kids these ages. When our order was taken there were very few other customers in the restaurant. We ordered just lunch... More

After a long drive, we thought we'd take a chance and stop to see if there was a room at the Lodge. There must have been a cancellation as there was one cabin left. ($159) It was a perfect little rustic room. We had a plumbing issue just as we were moving in (toilet was running as we came into... More

After a night of Camping at the State Park just up the road, we decided to eat breakfast at the Lodge. Amazing food, tremendous service, and priced very reasonably. I would recomend going in the fall of the year for the beautiful colors of the forest, scenic trails and driving, but i'm sure it's beautiful year round as well.

Well, where to start. Okay, here's the good points: Quiet cabin stay Large room Big t.v. Pretty good food in the dining room Big grounds Good for hiking Large "main lodge" room to hang out in Now, let's swing to the other side: Pretty spidery entrance to our cabin Outlet near tiny sink - non functioning Coffeemaker - sort of... Pere Marquette Lodge is a great venue for celebrating birthdays, weddings anniversaries, graduations, and so on. Four generations of my family stayed in cabins and used it to celebrate my 70th birthday last year; and, we returned this year for my 71st with dinner in the lodge, nature hikes and relaxation inside the main hall.

I stayed in a room with two other guys for the "Ride the River's Century" bike ride. I was very impressed with the overall stay at the lodge. The room was excellent as well as the staff. The outdoor activities and opportunities at Pere Marquette are abundant with great hiking, backpacking, and bike riding. Other people at the restaurant mentioned... More
