We stayed at the Golconda Lock & Dam homes for my birthday last fall. Overall it is a very small, very quiet town and the location of the homes is ideal right along the river. We pulled up to home #3 and were eagerly anticipating the inside and the hot tub that awaited . . .
However, we were greeted by HUNDREDS of ladybugs inside the house. All over the walls, congregating in the corners of every room. Ladybugs are fairly harmless, so we tried to make light of them being there. However when we stepped onto the back porch (screened in area where the hottub was) we were extremely disappointed. The screens were torn in many places, allowing an abundance of wasps and other bugs into the porch area. NOT appealing and NOT relaxing.
We did use the hot tub one night, however, it was nerve-wracking having to always look over our shoulders for wasps or bugs out on the porch. Didn't make for a very relaxing night. :(
