A FYI: This Best Western changed ownership earlier in 2009. Barry, the attorney who owned and has been revamping the property over the last several years has sold it to one of the Patel family of cheaper hotel operator fame. I have not stayed at the hotel since the ownership change took place so can only speak about the property... more

Not as nice as we had hoped. Thin pillows, worn mattresses. Clean and friendly, though. more

The BW Prairie Inn is located just east of Galesburg, and situated conveniently off I-74. At first glance, the BW seems a little isolated, in the midst of what appears to be a commercial area that doesn't seem to have quite gotten off the ground...however, Galesburg is a small town and the downtown "historic district" is only about a 5-6... more

We just got back from our class of 1959 class reunion that was held at Best Western Prairie Inn in Galesburg. We checked in Friday afternoon. The front desk was great and very informative. Friday night we were greeted by a cheerful "Banquet Manager". She treated us like family! The food was wonderful! Saturday afternoon we humbled ourselves with homemade... more

I can't believe all the negative reviews here - this motel has been our mainstay in the 4 years my daughter has been at Knox College, and it is one of the things I'll miss when she graduates. This place is GREAT!!! It can afford the low prices because it's not a prime location - not right in town -... more

My husband and I were driving through and saw this hotel from the interstate. They had rooms available and we were able to get a nice quiet King room. The hallway on which our room was located was very noisy; it sounded like an older ventilation system, but we couldn't hear it from our room. My husband had medication that... more

We stopped very late at night. They had one room left, a smoking room. However, since there are not many places to stay in the area, we said we would take it. There was not any smell of smoke when we entered the room. Our room was quite large with a king size bed. Everything in the hotel was very... more

Room did not get cleaned. Had to ask for towels shampoo and toilet paper. Mold on shower ceiling and drains and toilet backed up. Checked in with Credit card and paid at the end with debit card. The owner is an attorney and sited "Confusion" for an additional $490.00 being debited from my checking account. I called him using information... more

Formerly known as Jumer's, this property was "the" place to stay or have your group event if you were in Galesburg. Unfortunately, that was 20 years ago. And although the current management has made great strides in bringing back the "glory days" of the facility, it still misfires in a few key areas that need to be improved in order... more
