My husband and I experienced a bed and breakfast for the first time at the Annie Wiggins guest house. We stayed there for our 35th wedding anniversary. The furniture and decor was elegant yet inviting. Breakfast was a delicious sit down affair and the rooms were very clean and beautiful. We really enjoyed sitting on the veranda and just listening... My stay at Annie Wiggins Guest House was an unexpectedly lovely experience in every way. Wendy, your host, is so very welcoming, helpful, interesting, and fun. As a long-time resident of Galena she can give valuable tips on what to see and where to go in the area. Her BEAUTIFUL breakfasts start any day off deliciously. The rooms and dining... More

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend for my birthday. We stayed in the Annabella room and it was fantastic. The whole house was incredibly clean and Wendy was an incredible host. Literally, this weekend was 100% stress-free and relaxing. The perfect escape from our busy lives in downtown Chicago. Sit out on the patio and drink... More

We had a long weekend at the Annie Wiggins in historic Galena. Plenty to see for the history buff, and lots of nice restaurants for lunch and dinner. The breakfasts are superb. There was a cream cheese French toast, fresh fruit, and other wonderful breakfasts. All too soon it was time to leave the real world, and return to the... More

We went as two couples looking for a romantic getaway. Annie Wiggins house was a perfect location to walk to the down town area and beautiful scenery from the house windows. We enjoyed every aspect of the home from the porches to the breakfast to the stories told by the owner herself. We laughed, relaxed, dined and strolled hand in... More

We stayed in Sara's room which listed "private entrance, screened porch" as the description. The porch was not screened and served as the primary spot for everyone else in the house to gather at 8 am for coffee. We were woken up both mornings of our stay by rude guests who literally sat less than a foot away from the... More

I was very sorry to hear that this guest did not enjoy her stay at the Annie Wiggins. Our guests experience is very important to us. This may have been a case of misunderstanding and unrealistic expectations. To state the Annie Wiggins is "horrific" is a terrible accusation. Sara's room has a private entrance off the porch. The porch is... More

We have stayed in Nellie's room, Hattie's room, and going back soon with friends for a weekend getaway. Wendy is a wonderful hostess, who's giggle is contagious! She is a walking history lesson and hosts wonderful breakfasts. We truly feel at home here. We have had relaxing evenings on the porch, my husband attempted to teach me how to play... More

We stayed here one night for my 30th birthday and absolutely LOVED the place. We weren't sure if we were the 'bed and breakfast' kind, but were extremely happy with our decision to stay at Annie Wiggins. The location was perfect, just a short walk to downtown. Our hostess had the most interesting background and told the best stories about... More

Stayed here for the first time and enjoyed our visit. We stayed in Sarah's room and the cozy fireplace, the fainting couch and the tall bed were our favorites, though the old fashioned sink and bathtub left a little to be desired. The breakfast was delicious, the place settings and decor were beautiful and the hostess was very friendly and... More

We loved out stay with Annie Wiggins. The service was outstanding, and the inn itself is decorated in historical fashion. It is located very close to downtown, within walking distance. Overall, it was an amazing experience.
