My husband and I stayed here with another couple recently; we all stayed in the same room. We were excited for the fact that we were right on Main Street. I have stayed at the Main Street Inn in Galena several times and have always found it to be a good value. You DO have to be mobile enough to climb some pretty steep stairs to and from the guest rooms to the street, so it's probably not suitable if you're not able or willing to do that. PROS: Located on Main Street so you can walk to all the shops and restaurants. Spacious rooms Decent price Good continental breakfast. CONS (for some people): Located on the second floor - no elevator. May have to ring twice or visit a couple of times to get checked in...the innkeeper did not hear the bell the first time we rang... more
