We had a wonderful time as always when we stay here. This time we stayed in the Smith cabin. We loved it . Very relaxing and very quiet. People are Awsome and even though it was a Rainy weekend we still enjoyed it. Very clean cabin and they gave us delicious pumpkin bread plus two other flavors very delicious. We... More

I booked here last minute this past Friday for the next day for one night. I spent a lot of time contacting places for my son and his fiancé. He suprised us with his homecoming from his first deployment so I wanted to find a place for them for a short getaway! I emailed the inn keeper and she did... More

This place is awesome. Grant's Cabin will forever be a place my wife and I remember. You walk into a REAL log cabin, it's 150 years old, you can see each and every axe cut in the logs from 150 years ago! They've also tastefully incorporated a nice bathroom and a hot tub into the cabin. This past weekend was... More

We were looking for something quiet and relaxing and found it here. It was a quick last minute get away and when we called Sunday morning there was availability for the next two nights in Grant's cabin. We had never heard of this place before and decided to venture out from home in McHenry County. This was absolutely perfect for... More

Wanted to get away to a quiet place after a hectic week, this looked like the spot for just some relaxing. The cabin itself could use some upgrades for paying 225.00 a night. Such as the TV and bed. My computer monitor at home is bigger than the one in the cabin. The bed was very uncomfortable and small, don't... More

I cannot stress enough the fact that when you check in you are told numerous times to call if you have ANY problems at all and we will gladly do what we can to make your stay more pleasurable. I always have another cabin or guest house available for transfers if you are unhappy with your cabin. All of the... More

We loved our stay!! The cabin was so cozy and cute; we quickly felt at home and comfortable. The wood burning fireplace and jacuzzi tub were perfect for a quiet, peaceful weekend away from it all. Only a five minute drive to Main Street but still far enough away to feel secluded, it's the perfect location. Highly recommend and will... More

What a lovely place to stay. As long as you go into your visit with the expectation that you're staying in a very old antique log cabin, you'll love it and have a wonderful stay. We found the habit of leaving your signed wine bottle cork behind a quaint tradition that we gladly followed. Our cabin, the Smith, was conveniently... More

Thank you for your review!! As stated when you checked in, you can call any time for ANYTHING. If you would have pointed out the light bulbs that were burnt out I would have gladly done what I could to replace them. As it stands, I can't find any cabins with 4 bulbs burnt out....give me a call or send... More

We booked a room for a weekend but upon arrival we knew things did not bode well when we drove up and saw the property was not kept up. There were a lot of weeds mixed amount some really nice flowers and plants. We then entered the office in the main building to find it disorganized and filled with some... More

We loved how quiet it was! The Coach House was rustic and modern in all the right proportions. A little worried on arrival that a busy road and local football game would carry into the space but all was quiet in the night. Pet-friendly was a big concern, too, and it is always a relief to find a place with... More

The cost of gas and electricity actually drives our prices. I hope to one day install wind turbines and solar panels and eliminate those costs altogether.....that will be first on my list after the upgrades we are making this year. I need some repairs done on the cabins first and some paint on the main buildings. I've started the painting,... More

My boyfriend, daughter and I spent the weekend in the Coach House along with our small, anxiety ridden pup. It was perfect for what we were looking for. Quiet, cute, and cozy. The coach house was very clean, no bugs, spider webs...nothing! We loved our stay, it was super close to downtown and a Walmart was right down the street.... More
