My husband and I wanted an intimate fall wedding with close family members, and this proved to be a beautiful venue. We rented a few of the cabins, one for us, and then others for each side of the family. The smallest cabin (Cougar's Den) was cozy and romantic. There is a large screened in porch, a small sitting area... More

I talked several of my friends from school into travelling almost 400 miles from the big city of Chicago to Southern Illinois near my hometown and every minute and mile in that cramped van was worth it. Bob and Dixie were more than accommodating and gave excellent advice on things to do in the area; Garden of the Gods, Cave-In-Rock,... More

We wanted to get out of the big city and take a few days to ourselves before joining the family down south for Thanksgiving. This was the perfect place! The cabin was spectacular and we had almost every local attraction to ourselves! We were the only ones in Cave-in-Rock, which was eerie and cool and the same time. We were... More

This was our second trip to the cabins. Beautiful is the only word. Quite... Great hiking trails, small towns to explore. We have seen spring and fall...now we want to plan a winter trip..We can go back and back and not see everything the area has to offer. Dixie and Bob are great hosts and make it a point to... More

We stayed in Deer Run cabin. My wife and I got to enjoy the coziness of the 4 foot high loft. It is too bad that we only had one night to stay here. We were the only ones at the cabins that night. Had a wonderful camp fire. Walked thru the cemetery in the dark. Had a great conversation... More

I stayed for a family reunion and this location was perfect! The cabins are super clean and come with nearly everything except food. Close to tons of historic sites/things to do if you like the great outdoors. Very pretty and peaceful location and will definately come back. More

We stayed at Dogwood Cabins in June of 2011.We were pleasantly surprised with the nature surroundings and the privacy of the cabins. Right away Bob and Dixie made us feel like at home. We spent early mornings and late evenings on the screening porch listening to sounds and beauty of nature that surrounds the cabins. If you are a nature... More

These cabins are truly a slice of heaven in Southern Illinois. The cabins themselves are comfortable and the surroundings are fabulous! It's the best place to "get away from it all" that I've found yet. More

This is a great place to take your family! My husband had to work down in Harrisburg for a couple of days so we all went with him, and stayed at Dogwood Cabins. The cabins are beautiful, and they take such good care of their property! When we needed to stay another night they found us another cabin, and made... More
