Outside temperature was approaching 95 degrees. Inside temperature wasn't much better. The air conditioner was only blowing warm air. Told the front desk manager about the problem and the reply was that the air conditioners "were a little old". The shower drained extremely slow. The only good thing about the hotel is that it is very close to the Niemerg's... More

This is the kind of motel Stephen King would use for one of his novels, that truly creepy ones. Even before we entered the room the front window was broken and was being held together with wide roll of tape and the grass was growing through the cracks in the sidewalk and parking lot, bad start. We entered room to... More

We checked in at midnight and did not realize what this place was like!!!! Right off we had to have light bulbs put in all the lights, the clock did not work, but the room itself was clean. In the morning when I woke I went outside to find the swimming pool was empty and trees growing in it. I... More

Our vehicle had broken down near the town of Effingham, IL. Both the repair shop and the tow driver recommended this little known place near by. It might not be part of a chain, but the stay was excellent. The staff took care of us during our stay of 5 or so days. The room we were given had an... More

This hotel was just awful! We were greeted by a broken front window with packaging tape holding it together! OK we thought, maybe it just hasn't gotten fixed yet, but it sorta looked like old tape. When we walked into the lobby, it smelled like a nasty old ashtray that needed to be emptied badly. The front desk was absolutely... More

My visit was most unpleasant. It began with the dusty room, then went onto the bathroom floor that hadn't been mopped since the last guest was there (evidence was left on the floor) and ended with no water in the pool and the unkept grounds.

This hotel was by far the dirtiest place I have ever stayed. The carpet was so dirty that shoes were sticking to it. Hair all over the bathroom. Small towels had hair attached, too. If that were not enough, they served horrible breakfast. STAY AWAY AT ALL COST!

Really needs remodeling! Was obviously a Comfort Inn that could no longer compete at that price level. Everything in my room was very worn.

August 2003 We have stayed at Econo Lodges before, but never had an experience like this in our lives. I almost stepped on a dirty razor blade on the bathroom floor. The carpets were filthy and the recliner was falling apart--material all frayed. In fact my husband would not even sit in it. When we went to get into the... More
