My wife, unfortunately, smokes. Normally we stay in a smoking room and I have her smoke in the bathroom which USUALLY has a ventilation system to draw the moisture out of the bathroom when you take a shower. It is also good for clearing out smoke after she has a smoke. Not here, though. The vent system doesnt appear to function at all. BUT, other than that, we love this hotel! The rooms are clean, the staff is small-town friendly and Du Quoin is a NICE little town. Just go downtown and park, then walk around. If you dont smoke, this is a perfect little hotel in south Illy, and worth the drive up from Carbondale if you are visiting SIU. They have internet access but you need a cable (they provide one, in the nightstand drawer), and it is SLOW. It works tho! more
