We were very pleasantly surprised after reading some of the previous reviews. There were one or two fixtures that could do with a bit of maintenance but none of them detracted from our stay. The room we had was large and quiet. Any staff that helped us were very helpful and pleasant. I would recommend it to anyone. more

The other title I was considering... "1979 wants its Holiday Inn back" I stayed at this Holiday Inn on a last minute trip. The rooms on the backside of the hotel have brick enclosed balconies. Stayed here on the way back from a 4 state college tour. Clean and comfortable. Very nice front desk staff. GREAT breakfast, included scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy. more

This hotel has apparently been renovated since the original reviews were written. It deserves several more stars. We plan to stay here from now on when in the Chicago area. I loved this hotel. It was clean, seemed newish, and our room was an adequate size -- not huge, but not small either. The bedspreads were just coverlets, with white clean sheets. My husband is from Downers Grove (or "Downers Grave", as he calls it) and we stay here at least once or twice a year when we visit. I have no complaints. I think it's a great place to stay. Clean, comfortable, quiet, etc... No, it's not the Four Seasons... but well worth the $100/night. I highly recommend it. more

This is advertised as new rooms but the room we stayed in was not a new one. We have stayed in new Holiday Inn's and the rooms are not this small. The bathroom was small.
