New rooms have four poster beds our room was on the ground floor overlooking the village at the front, and open countryside at the back. Very quiet and peaceful location. Only snag the beds are very high and really need steps to reach, this is 'in hand' the very helpful staff assured us.

We have stayed in a lot of pubs over the years and this is definitely one of the better ones. Our room was modern, very comfortable and clean with a spacious bathroom. Pubs can be noisy if your room is over the bar, but this was not a problem here. We had dinner and breakfast, both very good. Would happily... More

We were lucky enough to have a room in the newly refurbished "The Farm". It was really superb. Very high quality furnishings, lovely bathroom and the biggest four-poster bed I've ever seen! We ate in the pub both nights and had breakfast each morning - all the food was first rate and the staff were excellent. They were attentive without... More

The Devonshire Arms was the best part of our stay in the UK for two weeks. The village is picturesque, the streets are quaint, and the Devonshire Arms welcomed us into the heart of rural England. My husband and I loved the hotel, and our room was beautifully decorated and the bed was extremely comfortable! The bathroom and the room... More

My partner and I went here for a light evening meal so we split a main course between us. Much to our delight, they were thoughtful enough to split the meal onto two dishes for us and presented us with two beautiful meals. Worth going to for sure.

I went to Chatsworth last week and found the Devonshire Arms on the Chatsworth website. What a great place. Everybody bent over backwards to make me feel welcome my entire stay. I was in a room in their newly renovated building. It was decorated perfectly and I'm sure will be featured in a magazine soon. Dinner was good- not gastro... More

We booked a large double room (Birchills) for a Sunday night (£130 b&b) - not cheap but the location so close to Chatsworth House and the farm shop is super. Our room was a match for most boutique hotels and it was spacious, spotless with a king sized bed, and beautifully presented. The bathroom was very good, with an excellent... More

Lovely village on the Chatsworth Estate. The pub has been very tastefully furnished and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We stayed in the Fold and discovered on our arrival that both the pillows and the duvet were filled with feathers, which aggravates my husband's asthma. After informing a member of staff, we were initially told that there would be... More
