We were there for a youth oriented convention, and they had a prom on Saturday night in the Fountain Hall / Open Atrium. Did not inform paying guests of this when rooms were assigned. Prom music blaring until 11 p.m. and base way to loud. Calls to the front desk were answered with "The music goes to 11, so we... more

This is our 3rd year to hold our annual state taxidermy convention in Decatur IL. We have around 125 members and everyone agrees that this is one of the nicest places that we have held our convention. It is in a great location for us and the staff are second to none to work with. A special thanks to Shannon,... more

In Decatur for an event, so we decided to stay at a hotel close to this event. The rooms are very 1980's in decor, but I hear they are redecorating. The pillows were as thin as paper and had to request more. They were prompt in delivering more flat pillows, so I'll give them promptness. The next day we went... more

My first impression of the hotel was not very good. As I entered I was greeted by the site of a young lady sitting in a chair reading a book and eating. Upon reaching the desk I noticed her name tag and relaized she was the front desk manager. I can't believe how unproffessional a manager looked. I figured this... more

This conference center proclaims itself to be "Decatur's only full service hotel", but the only form of service you'll get here will be of the funereal variety. My twin room was adequately-sized but dimly lit, with its windows looking out onto a halogen-infused inner courtyard. The lamps in the room provided more heat than light, which was lucky because the... more

We were here for a convention. First of all, check-in was a nightmare. There were about 25 of us,all with confirmed reservations, waiting to check in. We were told that no rooms were ready but people walked in the door and were assigned rooms. Finally, after we almost stormed the desk they found rooms for us. When we finally got... more

Web site and list of amenities look great on paper.... Not so great in person. Advertised two lounges on site ...Only one open. Ad said ywo resturants...again only one open. Both understaffed. Picture of lobby shows overstuffed leather furniture... It is there, but is filthy and should have been sold at a garage sale years ago. Room was dirty on arrival... more

We stay there every year in May. A group of us that ranges from 10-20 rooms are in Decatur for a torunament. The staff and especially Susan Keane have been so accomodating we will never stay any where else when we are there. I have been going to that tournament for 25 years. Only thing missing was a fire pit... more

Coming here for the past 8 years in early March, I have, sadly, seen the decline of this property. It had much promise years ago. Last year, my room reeked of sewage. Maintenance said the toilet line had a leak in it. This year, the room has a foul sewage odor, but not as bad as the last time. The... more

This hotel was bought by the city recently and they are operating it as best they can while shopping for a good, experienced hotel owner. They did that to keep from losing this facility and I commend them for it. I've stayed there twice and will be back again on October 9. The rooms have been clean and the food... more
