This place was awesome. The land was breathtaking. There are trails throughout the 20 plus acre property. There are bluffs to sit on and enjoy the sunsets. The house is an architectural gem. I tried to take pictures but to be honest they do not do it justice. I will say that the house is very open on the inside... More

I stayed two nights at the Bruce Goff Castle and I cannot recommend it enough! The house is absolutely beautiful, and it is nestled in a gorgeous area of the state. The breakfast and hospitality provided by Glen was second to none, and I had a great time talking with him on the porch while enjoying the fantastic scenery. The... More

This is such an interesting place, and is in a fantastic setting for those who enjoy nature. The property is beautiful, and the building itself is so unique. There are many little things throughout the house to notice, and all the books in the library about the history of the house were fun to look through. We only did a... More

Driving back to New Hampshire from a 4 month tour of the northwest and I tripped onto this place . Who knew Illinois has a true National Forest, with hills and caves and pure nature and with this Bruce Goff designed Castle B&B in the heart of the Forest Area. Others have described the architecture and host perfectly, I ventured... More

First, I must disclose my friend and I stayed here October 2009 (not 2010). Beyond that, I have nothing but glowing comments about the Bruce Goff B&B and its host, Glen Etzkorn. This is a destination B&B, meaning I went to that region to stay at the B&B, and then happily enjoyed much that the region has to offer (natural... More

Tucked into the Shawnee hills, this Bruce Goff house is a dazzle of stone, sun, glass, and mosaic. Each room faces rock overhang and thick forest; no need to leave bed to enjoy the views. In fact, every seat in the house affords stunning views of landscape or architecture. Be sure to visit each room. Glen, the artist-owner, is both... More

The architecture was amazing, the morning view from our bedroom window breathtaking, being in nature restorative, being sheltered in comfort relaxing, and being made to feel welcome (and full!) by Glen, the owner and manager of Bruce Goff Castle Bed and Breakfast—nice, too! We got to wander in nature, soak in the sunken tub, chat in the reading loft, watch... More
