My wife and I go to Chicago annually and we usually stay a little farther north near the Water Tower but wanted to try something further south off Michigan. We stayed 2 nights and this hotel is about 2 block off Michigan Avenue so not too bad. Great atmosphere in hotel, with bar and restaurant. There is also a begal... More

Stayed here for a couple of day business meeting. Pros: - Excellent location, couple of blocks from Navy Pier and the lake - few blocks from the L - Rooms look nice - Decent view, but ONLY on the north side of the hotel - Good internet, wired and wireless. Free for ATT customers. Cons: - The desk chair (the... More

Good price for downtown Chicago. All staff were friendly and helpful. Nice, kind of small, room. No problems getting an elevator. There is an Einstein's Bagels in building and they serve breakfast, but the hotel restaurant was closed for dinner. But, several places to eat within 2 to 4 blocks. A Whole Foods open just about across the street. Would... More

I chose this Hotel because my week long workshop was here. After staying here for a week I would come back on vacation. I was very pleased. The bed was comfortable, the climate control actually worked and I was able to maintain a room temperature that was comfortable. It was incredibly clean (as recently I have had not so great... More

No doubt the location is perfect. A big smile at check in, a nice little bar (quite small though) . I have not been to breakfast nor did I have any food so can't tell. Big issue, AGAIN in a DoubleTree.. is the noise : first of all, shut the heater before going to bed or you will regret it... More

Although this hotel is not on Michigan Avenue, it is close enough to enjoy all of the attractions nearby. The rooms are large and comfortable. The featured continental breakfast for Hilton Honors guests is adequate and may be upgraded to a full breakfast for $7.

In town for business and picked the Doubletree because of the location to downtown. The staff was helpful and courteous. The room was very comfortable and clean and the bed was soft was a feather. I had a well rested and peaceful night. Plan to stay there next time I'm in town.

The room was clean and the staff was helpful in restaurant choices. It was close to a number of things to do, stores and places to eat. I was on the 8th floor and could hear street sirens so I'm glad the hotel was not on Michigan Ave but close enough to enjoy. One day the hotel staff forgot to... More

Really nice hotel in a great location to see the city of Chicago. Lively bar and restaurant scene. My only complaint was that the fitness center did not open until 5:30. Almost every hotel I go to has a 24-hour health club access.

Staying in Streeterville

Neighborhood Profile
Streeterville
Streeterville is where visitors head for play at Navy Pier, a pseudo amusement park and development of restaurants, shops, rides, and other activities. You’ll find lots of action and excitement on the docks. Along the pier, you’ll see the statue of the captain for whom Streeterville is named. While you enjoy your fair share of sightseeing at the pier, you can also visit other popular attractions there such as the Chicago Children’s Museum and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Off the pier you’ll find more restaurants from low-cost pubs to high-end establishments. Arts and culture aficionados should be sure not to miss the Museum of Contemporary Art.
