This hotel is conveniently located. Walking distance to good restaurants, bars and theaters. It's beautiful on the outside and really nicely decorated inside. The rooms are average however, as mentioned in other reviews, the bathrooms are on the small side.

Great location--we walked everywhere. My only complaint about location was that the room constantly smelled like donuts because of the bakery below, but that may be a plus for others. Friendly staff. Free happy hour. Spacious and very clean room. Free coffee, tea, fruit, and granola in the lobby in the morning. When came back to the room after dinner... More

I stayed three days at Allegro during my last business trip. This hotel had the old style hotel charm with dark wood interior and details. It was conveniently located in downtown Chicago and walking distance from the lake and Millennium park. Only aspect of the inconvenience about this hotel was the small fitness center.

I have stayed at the Allegro several times and am always pleased. The rooms are well-appointed and comfortable, featuring a well-stocked "mini-bar" that has a great array of snacks for the hungry traveler. Kimpton's wine hour each evening 5-6pm is a great way to unwind and enjoy conversation with other guests. The personnel provide great customer service with a cheerful... More

Stayed for two nights on a business trip. The staff is friendly, rooms are clean and the breakfast they serve is great. It's near the business district and it's close to many great restaurants and bars. I will definitely stay here again.

What's not to love about a hotel that offers free wine for happy hour? In addition, the rooms are beautifully appointed, comfortable, with great amenities. The hotel is across the street from the Illinois building with shopping and a huge food court. This would be the perfect hotel if coming to town for a show at the Cadillac theatre, next... More

From the moment we walked in the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The food, room, service and decor were all top notch. They thought of all the details. Bike rentals are also available. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The room was a bit small, but everything was well thought out. Located next to the L was... More

We loved staying here! The staff is terrific--unfailingly friendly and helpful. The rooms are small but very comfortable. The happy hour wine service was a relaxing part of our days there. This hotel is close to theatres, several dining options within walking distance, and just a few blocks from a train station. We will happily stay there again when we... More

I recently stayed at the Hotel Allegro for a work trip and arrived feeling unwell. Upon calling down to the bar/restaurant, I learned that they had a limited menu and asked, anyway, if I could order toast. Although they were unsure they could accommodate my request, they looked around, called back, and were able to oblige (at no charge). While... More

My boyfriend and I visited Chicago for a 48-hour weekend to celebrate one of my best friends who was getting married at the nearby Blackstone Hotel. In retrospect, we should have stayed at that hotel considering the experience we ended up having, but we chose Hotel Allegro because I've stayed at Kimpton Hotels in the past and always found them...
