My boyfriend and I visited Chicago for a 48-hour weekend to celebrate one of my best friends who was getting married at the nearby Blackstone Hotel. In retrospect, we should have stayed at that hotel considering the experience we ended up having, but we chose Hotel Allegro because I've stayed at Kimpton Hotels in the past and always found them... Allegro is a nice hotel. Not over-luxurious, but an excellent standing. Friendly reception, nice organised happy-hour, great rooms and a good breakfast. That is all you need to have a good start of a busy week ! The attention to joggers in the lobby was a nice little detail. Shows great customer service ... !

Kimpton did not disappoint! A gorgeous lobby with plenty of space for lounging. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Hotel is very well located - walking distance to many Chicago sights and L stops were only a few blocks away (including the Blue line to O'Hare). Starbucks next door and a CVS around the corner. Area always felt safe - even... More

Hotel was beautiful - lobby and rooms. Nice furnishings through out and comfortable beds! Nice touch with free wine in evenings and coffee or tea at breakfast with a make your own granola area too as well as local and NY times papers out to read. Little touches like that are greatly appreciated and add to the ambiance.

We love Hotel Allegro. We have never taken our dog, but we love that the property is so pet friendly. The wine hour in the lobby is a great place to enjoy watching other guests mingle with their pets in tow. The property is always clean and the décor is fresh and modern. We have always been impressed with our... More

The Allegro and their staff did not disappoint! My oldest & I got away for her 15th birthday celebration and they treated her to special treats and a nice card! The remodel is lovely - although I miss the fantastical wallpaper in the foyer - and the staff despite being crazy busy were great!

This is a cool hotel in a fantastic location. If you’re in town as a tourist and looking to stay within walking distance of lots of attractions (e.g. Sears Tower, river boat tours, Millennium Park, ICA, Magnificent Mile, Riverwalk, theatres, bars, restaurants, parks etc.), this is a very convenient hotel. There is also a subway stop within two blocks, so... More

Great Location in the Theater District, near blue line station from O'Hare and walking distance to Chicago Riverwalk. Room was very comfortable comfy, nice bath. Happy hour from 5-6 with free Champagne or Proseco and juices. Lots of lobby level lounge areas some set in semi-private with sofas, pillows and fireplaces. Bed was comfortable. Biggest criticism was lack of places... More

We loved our stay at the hotel. The interior design is just fantastic. Art Deco revival lives in that hotel. The best part was the evening cocktail party for the entire hotel. Every evening everyone is invited to the lobby for a complimentary drink of prosecco. Not my favourite drink but fun. You do have the feeling that it was... More

And again we had an extremely pleasant stay in the Allegro. This is the place to be when you visit Chicago. Location is great and the Hotel can’t be better. The “Allegro experience” starts already when you enter the lower level of the Allegro. The stair walks up to the Lobby impresses already with the classic chic art deco style,... More

Staying in Downtown / The Loop

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown / The Loop
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city.
