I have stayed at many Kimpton hotels and my first time at the Allegro was a delight. The lobby was exquisite and quirky and sublimely Kimpton! I hear they are renovating to make it even more Grander than the Budapest. Kidding aside, the hotel is perfectly situated, away from the fray, yet it is a quick walk over the Chicago... More

I have stayed at the Allegro quite a few times over the years, and wrote a TripAdvisor review three years ago. On a recent visit to Chicago, I returned to the Allegro and was not disappointed, even though the place was in the early stage of an ambitious renovation. As I remembered, the welcome was genuinely warm. My room --... More

Some time ago I stumbled across the Klimpton Hotel group online and was attracted to their pictures of modern, yet elegant lobbies and public areas. I was so taken with them that I signed up for their loyalty program without having stayed at any one of their properties. On a recent visit to Chicago I took the opportunity to stay... More

My wife and I decided to go to Chicago the night and booked this hotel as we drove. We thought we we booking the Palomar Kimpton hotel (a much nicer property). This hotel has the look and feel of old time Chicago. The rooms were on the small size but enough for the two of us. We enjoyed the wine... More

Jim R, We agree - the Allegro is very much "Old Chicago". Our building was built in 1926 and still retains much of the original architecture and classic Art Deco finished. We are in the midst of a dramatic renovation that will truly celebrate our Art Deco roots. Thank you for giving us a try! Warm Regards, Mary Fleming Hotel... More

before I moved to Chicago late last year, I would stayed at the Allegro for business trip. As several reviewers mentioned, the lobby is spacious with several seating area. There is one area towards the restroom and the restaurant that is quieter, which is a space good for post work-day meetings. As part of the Kimpton hospitality, there is a... More

When looking for a venue, I didn’t just want a place to get married, I wanted to create an environment where my guests felt comfortable and welcome. I wanted to create a wedding weekend, with a community feel, where our guests had the opportunity to get to know each other, so we could come together at our wedding and celebrate... More

I stayed at the Allegro one night for business. It's downtown Chicago so expect an older high rise hotel with small rooms. The decor is modern and the lobby is nice. It's decorated nicely and it has lots of areas to sit and read a book, congregate or generally relax. The front desk staff was friendly. The guy that checked... More

The staff at Hotel Allegro are amazing, especially Cody Umbach and Doug Kelly in Group Sales. The staff in that department have helped me set up some smaller group reservations for our company throughout the past year and have always had time to answer my questions. One time there was a misunderstanding on our company's part about the billing that... More

We had the best time on our trip. This boutique and historical hotel was a great landing spot. Definitely not in the 'heart' of it all as there weren't any shows running in the theatre district, but a nice walk to anywhere we needed to go and easy access to public transportation. Specifically, the L from the airport was a... More
