This hotel was built in another era and although refurbished, retains its old world elegance. Staff were helpful and friendly. The room was on the small side but quite clean and comfortable. This is on the Mile and very convenient for shopping, bars and restaurant and transport. There is a drugstore chain nearby if you need to pick up small... More

We stayed at the Allerton for 2 nights with groupons. The room was contemporary, comfortable, and of good size. The location is great, right on the MM. A few cons to the stay were that there was little space for clothes - one medium sized closet with a couple of hangers, and the refrigerator has no room for personal items.... More

I was very disappointed in the service and the star rating of this hotel! We booked with an online discounted service that we have used many times in the past and never had a problem. I felt we were treated like second class citizens. The room was so small there was maybe a foot on each side of the double... More

We stayed at the Allerton on a Saturday night in early January. We purchased a suite through Groupon for about $150.00 and it was well worth it for the space alone. We checked in on a Saturday afternoon and the process was very quick. We decided to valet and the $50 were charged to our room. The view was gorgeous,... More

We purchased two one night stays through Groupon, paying about $100.00 for each night. We live in the suburbs and come in to Chicago frequently and thought the Allerton would be a great place to frequent, due to it's location. We won't stay there again. The first stay was on a weeknight. We had room 824, across from the elevators.... More

Recently stayed at the Allerton on a Saturday night. We had a Groupon, so we stayed in a suite that was huge. Everything was very clean and comfy and we had a great view of the skyline. The best part of the hotel is the location- walking distance to Water Tower, tons of restaurants, and public transportation (we did not... More

Two nights at the Allerton was very pleasant. Purchased on Hotwire for $58 per night while many friends paid $100 more for other hotels in area. Bed was very very comfortable and bath & shower were very nice. Only negative was bath not having shelf or area for toiletries. Business Center with free printing, unheard of today but true. Paid... On check in we specifically requested a room away from the elevator banks. We checked in early so there we still many rooms to choose from. When we went to sleep it sounded like a snow plow was operating in our room - we realized it was the service elevator. This went on the entire night. It turned out that... More

Wow! What a neat hotel! I would not have chosen the Allerton had it not been for a Groupon offering last month. I’m so glad for that because the Allerton is such a lovely boutique hotel right in the heart of the Mag Mile. We arrived right before the little snowstorm of Jan. 20 and got our car valet-parked so... More

The Allerton is a staple of the Magnificent Mile. It couldn't be any better situation to the great dining, shopping and entertainment of Chicago. Rooms can be small... avoid the Petite unless you are by yourself. This is a boutique hotel and sometimes feels like a New York-style boutique hotel. Staff is very helpful and upgraded us for free! Dear ThurmanMurman, Thank you for your wonderful review. We are one of the lucky hotels to be in the heart of the Magnificent Mile which makes for a great hub for guests wanting to take in all the popular Chicago attractions. Yes, our Petite rooms are on the smaller side, but depending on each guest's personal preference we offer a... More
