Dirty and gross complete waste of money Peeling laminate floor, toilet didn't work, no parking, untidy hallway , air conditioning did not work. Pillows gross. Make sure to bring protective footwear as floor is old and dirty So upset we wasted our money!

Nice hotel nestled in the neighborhoods of the Gold Coast. Perfect location for local hot spots. Plenty of food and drinks within walking distances. Hotel and room decor was cheerful and bright not something I've seen in other Chicago hotels. Great stay would definitely go back!

We really enjoyed our brief two night stay at this quaint little hotel and really appreciated the friendly and attentive service from the front desk staff, manager and housekeeping staff. From recognizing us as IHG Rewards members to remembering our names each time we passed the front desk to bringing us a corkscrew and extra hangers by housekeeping, we felt... More

My wife and I have stayed here many years for NRA (National Restaurant Association Show) and some of the employees remember us. We like the neighborhood and location. There are places you walk to and on Saturdays there is a street market. The hotel could use some updating, but the location and people make up for the deficiencies.

The hotel was a last minute booking and the price was great. We enjoyed the beachy, bright feel to the rooms and the convience of the location. The room was small, but charming and the help waS great. Nice breakfast in the morning and a small, but adequate bar. The only issue we had was the nasty smell in the... More

Poor amenities. Not very clean. Just old and tired looking. Poor service at the bar. It took 30 minutes to check in. Blinds are broken in this room so sun woke me before my alarm clock. No shuttle service to and from airport. Many better options in downtown Chicago next time I come.

We found the front desk attendants friendly and helpful. We got in early and they got us to our room in about 15 minutes. Very pleasing, large lobby with a bar in the front and restaurant in the back. The decor is bright and cheery. Our room was quite large, with a sitting area. The sink is outside of the... More

The Hotel Indigo is in the Chicago Gold Coast neighborhood, but it is not the quality you would expect for the location. Considered a boutique hotel as part of the IHG brands, it is below the standard we have come to expect for IHG. Conveniently located only a couple of blocks from Lake Michigan, the Red Line station and the... More

Feels tired, front desk messy and unorganised and that sets the tone. "Hardwood floors" =laminate that is chipping badly. Furniture cheap, think knobs that fall off, doors that don't close properly. I puts eon the big pillows I didn't want to use from the bed on top of the wardrobe and was met with a cloud of dust. Bathroom old... More

Front desk staff could not care less about guests. They barely open their mouth to talk and don't even bother to look at you while talking. We had to call twice for the toilet seat to be tighten. A 32" tv was about 6 yards from the bed. I think they had it there just to say that "there is... More

Staying in Gold Coast

Neighborhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
