Good hotel near all shops and restaurants at the Magnificent Mile. The receptionists are all very helpful. The VERY negative remark is that instead of giving us a room at the main building we were installed in a room at the neighbor studio building. Although it was more spacious, the noise during ALL NIGHT AND EARLY MORNING is almost unberable.... More

The location of this hotel is amazing - just off the Magnificent Mile, and opposite the 360 degree observatory tower. 5 star ranking for the location. You can walk down to the river and other places are a short cab ride away (Uber is cheaper than regular cabs for now) The price is based on the expensive neighbourhood it is... More

Two nights stay and I wish it had been longer. A lovely little hotel. Fantastic location and great staff. Comfortable beds and clean rooms. The bathroom needs updating but was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was good in the adjoining Ditka's. Will stay here again

Came into town for business, and as I previously lived in the city, am always looking for a hotel that is perfectly located and reasonably priced. This fit the bill. Note - there is a place called the Tremont Studios, and then there's the Hotel. I stayed at the hotel, so this review does not pertain to the studios, which... More

Stayed here for 4 nights this August. The room was very clean, quite and comfortable. The location was fantastic and the staff was very friendly. I gave this a 3 instead of 4 for a few reasons. 1. The bathroom. Needs renovation. Tiles in showers were cracked and showed signs of repeated repairs. There were a couple nights I could... More

My partner and I stayed at the Tremont Chicago hotel this past weekend for one evening only. To be fair we did not spend a lot of time in the hotel (we checked in at about 8 pm on a Friday and checked out at 4 pm on the next day). But based on our limited time there… Hotel Building... More

This hotel needs an honest review. This review is specific to the residences and should be viewed as such. I don't have much knowledge of the main hotel except for the lobby and Ditka's. First, the property is in an excellent location and close to a number of restaurants, cafe, and a really nice gelatto place. Shopping is also close.... More

As a Starwood Platinum Guest, our family decided to spend six (6) nights at The Tremont Chicago Hotel at Magnificent Mile for an end-of-summer vacation before our two (2) young daughters returned to school. This boutique hotel is located a half-block off Michigan Avenue with a clear, unobstructed view of the John Hancock Building. From this location we easily walked... More

Stayed there for three nights. I loved the smiley faces of the stuff, effciency and how helpful they are, cleanliness of the room. Loved the mattress too.I'll have to get me one of those. The best part was the location. Every place we wanted to visit was between 3 and 20 minutes walk. Those further ones were 10-15 cab ride.

A real gem in the heart of Chicago's Magnificent Mile. Well appointed, modern rooms in a classic older hotel. The staff were very friendly, attentive and professional. Transit is nearby. Self-park options are available in the area.

Staying in Gold Coast

Neighborhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
