Great value, great location! Traditional decor but clean rooms with comfortable bed and lines! molton brown toiletries? Makes a difference! super nice staff.. and someone ran out in the cold to get toothbrushes we forgot to pack at 9pm. Loved this place.

The Talbott deserves all the accolades it has received. Small, intimate and friendly, the service is impeccable. Well located for traveler's seeking great dining and shopping nearby. Fine linens and toiletries, the rooms are spacious and well appointed. For a wonderful Chicago experience, it outshines the competition.

The Talbott Hotel is one of those rare finds that makes you believe that the hospitality industry really can - if it wants to - get it right. Located in the swanky "Gold Coast" on East Delaware (at State), sharing a back wall with the Waldorf Astoria Chicago and located a half block West of the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago,... More

We returned to the Talbott for another weekend getaway. It was as wonderful as the first time we visited. Very courteous, friendly and helpful staff. The room was decorated beautifully. Plenty of room (we got the King Deluxe room this go round). Lovely linens and a comfy bed. Nice towels. Nice amenities and bathroom goodies. Quiet and peaceful. A nice... More

I can't say enough about our stay at The Talbott. Our suite was large, comfortable, perfectly clean, and nicely appointed. Every person we met, the reception team, the concierge, our housekeeper, valet, and of course Charlie, could not have been more welcoming, genuine, helpful and friendly. We were originally booked at The Four Seasons but switched to The Talbott after... More

I've stayed up until the twice on business travel and had fantastic experience is both times. The staff is professional and gracious, the rooms are spacious classy and comfortable, and the location is great. The Mexican restaurant on the ground floor is ok but very expensive; go with the French restaurant on the corner.

I loved the Gold Coast neighborhood. The talbott is close to the magnificent mile. the concierge told me about the best museum - the Driehaus - which I am still talking about. It was also close to the French alliance which was why we were there.

From the moment you arrive, you feel welcomed and experience fantastic service. The large rooms are comfortable, elegant, clean and quiet. The concierge service is fantastic. It is the perfect location from which to explore downtown Chicago.

I am Chicago all the time, have read about this hotel and have wanted to stay here. I was in Chicago in January for a week to visit friends. I decided to book this hotel because of the reviews and and the great location. When I arrived at the hotel I was greeted by the bellman. Each bellman takes his... More

Staying in Gold Coast

Neighborhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
