I've stayed at the Renaissance Chicago 6 or 7 times and my most recent stay, November 2-5 was dissapointing. Service was consistently off-key. Some examples: I requested a additional bath towel which was delivered while I was out but housekeeping took out all hand towels without replacing them--a call was necessary to get a hand towel; room service breakfast arrived... The location for this hotel is ideal for shopping and eating. Michigan avenue is about a 5 minute walk and the old Marshall Fields (now Macy's) is about 5 minutes away as well. There are excellent restaurants in the area. Several theatres are also within walking distance. The hotel lobby is really beautiful. THe rooms are small but tastefully furnished.... More

I would have given it 4 stars, had its staff are focused and friendly. The hotel and its room are nice, new and modern. Our high floor window view is metro area with high ways and surrounding high-rises. Beautiful in the evening with lights. However, its front desk staff were cold and distracted. During checking in, he was busy with... More

The hotel is in a great location, right on the river and within a quick walk to Lake Michigan. Surprised at how large the rooms were for a little older of a city hotel. It was clean and well appointed. I will return. We didn't have much interaction with staff, but the check in was at the level it should... More

My wife and I spent one night at The Renaissance Chicago, using Priceline. We got an amazing night for our one night stay and couldn't fault the service and our room at all. We arrived to the hotel late at night and check in was no problem. We had requested a king bed and nice view on a high floor.... More

This hotel has an excellent location on the water and a block from Michigan Avenue. Rooms are good size and pleasant as is typical for this brand. The lobby could use a remodel to be more welcoming and comfortable. I do notice a significant cut back on shampoo, lotion etc available in the room. The concierge level offerings are popular... More

I stayed here for work for 2 nights in October and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The check in was a breeze, the rooms were clean, the service was nice and the meetings space was well appointed. There are plenty of food choices either in the hotel or nearby, and as with Chicago, for less than a $10 can ride you... More

Stayed at this outstanding hotel for the Chicago Marathon. My main concerns were quiet (so, I could get proper sleep for the race), comfortable room, and nice restaurant. I got all three! My room overlooked the Chicago River, with amazing views during the day and evening. The setup of the room was quite different from those in the center of... More

If you want to shop, go to the Chicago Theatre, museums, and dine, this hotel has a great location. It is walking distance to most things to do. The rooms are comfortable and clean. I don't like having to pay for the Internet, but that is my only complaint. I was in town on business, but live in the area.... More

I only stayed for one night on a quick business trip, and it's a good hotel for the location. I think $52 for overnight valet parking is utterly ridiculous, but it's Chicago. The check-in, staff, hotel bartenders, etc. were all friendly and efficient. The King room that I had wasn't overly large and it didn't have a great view of... More
