Ideal location on the Chicago River in the theater district. Walking distance to all the sites and near "L" stops. Trendy decor and active vibe makes this a great place to stay during your Chicago visit. One negative though is the fact the wifi is not free. For the amount you pay per night, it should be included. Seems like... More

I have stayed here many times over the years for business travel, and it was always an "OK" place to stay. I would sometimes stay at fancier hotels if I could get a good rate, but the Renaissance was always the go-to hotel because they usually have rooms, decent rates, and a great location. Well, I was there yesterday for... More

This hotel has a great location in downtown Chicago. This hotel is extremely quiet compared to most other Chicago properties that I have stayed at. Would definitely stay at this property again. Employees are extremely friendly and helpful.

Next to the State/Lake El stop and many bus lines. If you want to hoof it, there are tons of great restaurants and bars nearby, plus the theater district. I did not find the lobby seating to be particularly comfortable, but there were a number of places to plug in. I thought the stadium style seating next to the bar... More

We decided to stay at this hotel instead of the Renaissance Blackstone (which we also love) because we were visiting with a guest who had never been to Chicago and we wanted a location closer to the river and to Michigan Ave. This is at least our third stay at this hotel and it was a great one. Check in... More

Stayed here for 2 nights. 8 of us in total, rooms right across from each other. Didn't spend a bunch of time at the hotel. We like the large open lobby. Seemed like a very happening spot. Shout out to Stephen (great mustache) and Angie. Very pleasant to chat with, knowledgeable about different beers and where to go out on... More

Everything about this hotel was great, people, location etc. until we tried to get some sleep. Then we became belatedly and surprisingly aware how noisy the train was. The hotel restaurant was better than average and hard to book, so people know it's worth a visit.

Jeff - We are delighted to hear there were so many positives about your stay. We do apologize for the noise caused by the train, but hope this will not deter you from joining us again the next time you are in the windy city! Thank you and live well. More

I have stayed here two times in 12 months. In that time it has transformed with an update. Too urban for me. Bar is the jutted right into middle of lobby with lighting that is modern and bright- in a not great way. Good luck with that in winter...There are sitting places where the old bar was that is loud... More

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city. This is our "go-to" hotel in Chicago. It is pretty reasonably priced and I love the location. It's on the corner of State & Wacker. The Chicago Theater is one block down on State; the theater district is within walking distance down State street - and then you have... More

In Chicago for a giant convention. Hotel choices are all so grim for convention hotels. Everything full. Snagged a room at the Renaissance expecting little -- and was completely surprised. The reception and personal attention were remarkable. The staff at the "Club" (really just a set-aside part of the restaurant) as well as the club food for breakfast and cocktails... More

Here at the Renaissance we delight in being a 'surprising find' in the windy city! We are so glad we were able to provide you with a memorable experience. We do want to share that we just opened our brand new club lounge on our main level and hope you will come to check it out soon! More
