Stayed here a weekend just because. No reason. Was not disappointed. The hotel is smack downtown, on the river. We had a river view room and yes, there are sounds in a city. Much less noise than the Wyndham we stayed at that was next to a Hospital. The bar at this hotel is top notch and we watched an... More

Great location on Wacker. If you ask for a view of the river, be prepared for a very noisy night. Sirens are constantly going off. Floor music is very loud and obnoxious. Hallways could stand a renovation. Front desk staff was helpful (Concierge desk was in the lobby but never tended to). Nice coffee shop located in lobby. Would recommend... More

Nice beds, clean rooms. If you've been to a room in a hotel overseas or at a world-class location, you'll be disappointed by this place. Very good support staff; horrible management. Seems completely rigid and not able to be flexible. Bottom line is that they're not able to adapt themselves to customers' needs. Again, this is purely a management issue;... More

This is a beautiful hotel situated on Upper Wacker. The hotel is beautiful, well-cared for and perfectly convenient in every way. Service is excellent! Restaurants are wonderful! Would definitely recommend for couples, business and family guests.

I am in Chicago often and have stayed at many of the hotels. This is my new favorite when I bring my family. Great location on the corner of Upper Wacker and State. Nice rooms, good view, and best of all the pool is awesome! The pool is so warm you can walk right in. Kids can't get enough.

This is a great hotel and I'm writing this review just to highlight a change so that it doesn't catch you off guard as it did me. They have filled in the Jacuzzi / hot tub by the pool that used to be shown on the Marriott web-site so if you booked when it was shown to be available (as... More

This is a typical Renaissance hotel in a good location...State street shops right on your doorstep, and Michigan Ave about 6 min walk. There is a subway stop across the street which is easy to use and cheap....we went out to the different burbs as a change from the city center. The room is a good size with a spacious... More

Literally spent about 12hrs in this hotel, basically to sleep. The hotel is beautiful, rooms are clean and not dated at all as some people have said. I did not visit the pool area so I can not comment on that. Hotel staff was nice, hotel was quiet, bed was comfy, bathroom is huge. Love the old charm of this... More

Of all the Marriott brand properties in Chicago, this Renaissance delivers the best Chicago experience. The very iconic Chicago Theatre is next door and this Renaissance's back door lets out directly to one of CTA's 'L' train stations that can quickly and cheaply take you to many of the city's key spots, neighborhoods or even to O'Hare (with a transfer).... Very disappointed in this property, I have stayed here several times before this visit, the rooms are old but the steam room and hot tub made up for it. But upon arrival nothing was said about the closings. Even on their site it still shows that the steam room and hot tub as functional, but the hot tub has been... More
