We stayed three nights in late July at the Raffaello. We were on the 3rd floor overlooking the garbage dumpster, so not exactly the view we were hoping for! And there was a stench, but I soon discovered it was the sewage smell radiating from the shower drain (and pretty much all over the city) that I became accustomed to... More

The hotel was located in a fantastic place. 2 blocks away from Michigan Ave, 1 Block from the Hancock building. Perfect location for all the shops, and a short drive or cab to the various museums that Chicago has to offer. Service was fantastic, whether it was getting directions or advice on where to go, to taking care of our... More

Being just a stones-throw from the hustle and bustle of North Michigan avenue, the hotel offers easy accessibility to the Lake and the downtown shopping areas. Despite its close proximity to the centre, the hotel and it's surrounding area is peaceful. The hotel rooms are spacious and filled with all the amenities you would expect to find in a hotel... I stayed here with my husband for 3 nights. The location is perfect for the shops and major attractions. There are lots of restaurants and bars very close to hand so just perfect for tourists. The hotel itself was good but we left feeling there were a number things which could have been better. The hotel is well presented and... More

This is a lovely historic hotel and we were very comfortable here. It is next door to the Hancock tower, which was fabulous. The location is perfect because it is quiet but is only a short walk from the magnificent mile. We had wonderful service and the staff was very helpful. The donut shop in the lobby was a nice... This was a convenient hotel. .. very near the John Hancock building and Lake Michigan. Room was good sized, and the bathroom was beautiful - big and newly decorated in modern decor. Front desk staff was friendly. Views from the 17th floor were stunning. Room was a bit more expensive than I hoped, but ours was a last minute booking.... More

My friend and I stayed at this hotel in July, Monday through Friday. We will definitely be returning! It has a great location which is one block from Michigan Avenue and close to the red line and bus stops. (I recommend looking into buying a CTA Ventra pass.) We stayed in an Elegant King room which was spacious enough for... More

What a difference a day makes. Our first day was great. This old hotel has a great bar on the 17th floor, and our only problem was the antiquated elevators. There are only two, and they are slow. This might not seem like a problem but when we arrived back last night from dinner around 9pm. There was a line... More

I wanted very badly to enjoy our stay at Raffaello. I did not have a 'bad' experience, but I certainly did not have an experience to the level of a four star hotel. I would suggest unless you book this hotel for $100 or less that it is not worth the money in comparison to other hotels in this area.... More

Staying in Streeterville

Neighborhood Profile
Streeterville
Streeterville is where visitors head for play at Navy Pier, a pseudo amusement park and development of restaurants, shops, rides, and other activities. You’ll find lots of action and excitement on the docks. Along the pier, you’ll see the statue of the captain for whom Streeterville is named. While you enjoy your fair share of sightseeing at the pier, you can also visit other popular attractions there such as the Chicago Children’s Museum and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Off the pier you’ll find more restaurants from low-cost pubs to high-end establishments. Arts and culture aficionados should be sure not to miss the Museum of Contemporary Art.
