I've stayed here several times in the past and never had any issues, but our stay this time was fairly disappointing. After checking in we went up to our room and discovered that it wasn't even prepared- the bed wasn't made and there were used towels on the bathroom floor. Later that day we discovered that the TV wouldn't turn... More

Checking in policy is 16:00 hrs. Had to wait for a few hours until our room was ready. Waiting in the lobby is crazy, poor AC. As we happily got into our room we switched on the AC. It was very loud above mormal, we called the front desk and they sent the very nice maintenance guy that told us... More

Upon check-in (which was a circus), we got to our room, walked in and a man was getting out of the shower. Scary that the hotel would issue keys for an occupied room! We immediately went downstairs and got another key for another room, and the bathroom was pretty moldy and the a/c was blowing hot air. We were still... More

Not the nicest hotel I've ever visited but it's an excellent location for a decent price (much lower than many nearby hotels). The room was small and the elevator was slow and busy but I could hardly hear any street noise from the seventh floor (I have stayed in hotels where that level or higher was still pretty noisy) and... I stayed here for two night on business. The price was reasonable with great location, but the heating system was so loud it was hard to sleep. I ended up turning it off and burying myself in the covers. The room was supposed to have wifi, but I was unable to use it, which made it horrible for completing my... More

We stayed 2 week nights here. The staff was friendly & helpful. The hotel is not luxury accommodations, so don't stay here if you expect the Marriott, but it was tidy, extremely convenient (less than 1 block off of Michigan Ave) & so reasonable! Elevators are hard to catch at peak times. We will definitely stay here again!

The location of the hotel is great just one block away from the magnificent mile and other sights , the rooms are small and not the cleanest in our case but overall Ok. Service is good and staff overall friendly. I would recommend this hotel for a short stay like mine but for a longer stay I would go for... More

The location is perfect. Put this hotel anywhere less convienent, I would give it .5 stars , yes 1/2 of a star. The woman at the front desk was really rude. I asked if I could use a luggage cart to bring in my 6 bags of stuff, and she was very rude/mean to me. I had my car sitting... More

Is there a no circle rating. Booked it last minute for a Sat & Sun nights. Cheapest I could find ($588 total, plus parking). Shoulda paid the extra $20 and stayed at a REAL hotel!! First thing you notice is the lobby...a single table they got at goodwill. I shoulda known it was trouble when there was a hired security... More

Having read the reviews, my friend and I had our fingers crossed as we checked in. We were expecting much worse but were actually pleasantly surprised. Our plane arrived earlier than check in, but Brenda at the front desk checked our luggage so we could walk around the city. The front desk was busy during check-in, check-out, but if you're... More

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
