This was our second visit to this hotel. Due to some bad luck with our room's air conditioner, our first visit was a bit difficult. The second time was much better. I got a great rate on Hotwire (for those who don't use Hotwire, you're crazy). The one downfall about Hotwire is that you might not get the amount of... More

We camped out here for three nights and had a great stay. It's a historic building in a great location on Michigan Avenue a few blocks north of the river. Our room was nice, and housekeeping did a bang up job each day. My only complaint about the hotel itself was that they don't have adequate front desk staff during... More

My room was small but comfortable and luxurious with a great use of space in the room and bathroom. I have had much smaller rooms in Chicago so this was better. The color pattern was modern and the décor was beautiful. There was a large window with lots of natural light coming in, and a nice comfortable couch to relax... More

This hotel is very classy and clean. The staff were very nice, at times a bit robotic, but atleast they were respectful. No issues while staying at the hotel, I come once a month and will be back to see them soon.

The pool is great for doing laps. The room was clean and airy. We had a nice view of N Michigan St. Sign up to be part of the intercontinental club to get free internet (they give you a wifi code) for your stay! Wifi was fast and reliable

I'm already a big fan IHG's InterContinental Hotel brand, so it was a no brainer for my family and I to choose InterContinental Chicago for a quick trip to the Windy City. The hotel is located on Michigan Ave on Chicago's Magnificent Mile, so this was already a plus since we could step outside the door of the hotel and... More

The room was very small, a big chair covering the walkway to the bed and you had to squeeze by to get to one side of the bed. It was in a great location to eating places and lots of great shopping. I stayed here two nights on business and it was fine for just one person in the room.

The hotel is located on Michigan Blvd right in the middle of the activity which includes Lake Michigan, the outdoor concert parks, walking distant to the major museums(short cab ride for seniors) Rush Street which has a large number of memorable restaurants(check with concierge) which you will want to visit your next trip to Chicago. Hotel is right between Wrigley... More

This hotel was located right in the heart of the city of Chicago. We could easily walk to dinning and shopping. I gave this a four star rating because the room was small and we had difficulty controlling the temperature in our room. We were treated well by hotel staff and the expo shuttles picked us up right from the... More

In the middle of a busy street and a busy city, this hotel is a quiet oasis. Great for business travelers! Rooms are not huge but comfortable. Starbucks in the lobby. Great front desk with helpful personnel.

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
