This is a comfy grand address on the Miracle Mile. The location is perfect for walking almost any where. The Continental restaurant is just fair. Michael Jordan's place is a bit of typical celebrity owned kitchens. Too much emphasis on the name. For business it works very well.

For my first trip to Chicago this was a great hotel to stay at. I've been wanting to stay at an Intercontinental and finally was able to. The location of the hotel is perfect, it's close to everything on the Magnificent Mile and your surrounded by a lot of restaurants, department stores, and bars/clubs. They also recently renovated all the... More

The rooms are okay at best. My safe didn't work and they said they would swap it and replace it with a new one and they never did during the 2 days/nights at the hotel. The fitness room is tiny with low ceilings and old machines - and they charge almost $20 to use it!! They charge a lot for... More

I visited for a conference over Chicago spring break so we'll ignore the unattended kids running back and forth in the halls. The rooms were nice and modern. The hotel staff were great. Te food prices were just obscene - leave the hotel to eat. The elevators though - God help me. It wasn't unusual to wait 20 minutes for... More

Nice room with all the stuff you need for you business. 15 inch MacBook fits in the safe. So I'm happy. Location is great, airco is noisy. Make sure you are member of the loyalty program so the wifi is free and you get a free coffee in the hotel Starbucks.

Stayed on a Friday night while looking for housing in Chicago. Excellent location with many restaurants, shopping choices, etc. nearby. There is a Starbucks and Michael Jordan's Steakhouse attached to the hotel. The room was fairly spacious for Chicago. Very clean and well kept. The room and hotel in general were very quiet, especially considering our room faced the street.... More

Great historic hotel on Michigan Avenue near the Wrigley Tower. The historic tower rooms are newly remodelled (I had one). Hotel includes bathrobes (a nice touch). Historic swimming pool and meeting rooms a treat. Close to everything. My corner room had a view of the Lake, the River, and the historic architecture of this fabulous city. My stay was marred... very good hotel, confortable and quite expensive (as expected) minimal service ... everything is difficult or impossible.. use the front desk just to check.in and check.our... if you have "strange requests" (like to change your rooms) system hangs ... stay away from room close to elevators... really really noisy.

Just back from 3 nights at this hotel in Chicago. The hotel is ideally placed for shopping and sightseeing, we were able to walk to many places, others were a short cab ride. Reception staff were friendly and welcoming and the concierge staff didn't put a foot wrong with directions or restaurant recommendations. The room was bigger than I expected... More

I stayed at the IC for a business trip. The staff were very friendly and I was able to get into a room early. The room (2 queens) was kind of small compared to other hotels I've stayed at in the same price range. It was very comfortable though. Great location on Michigan Ave. Very quiet and relaxing during my... More

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
