Hotel is clean, staff is polite and helpful. Location is a little bir away from downtown and it is convenient for business/meetings but not for pleasure. There should be nore restaurant, bar, and cafe choices.

The hotel was dated with restaurants on the first floor that were closed or empty when I arrived midweek for business. The bar was pleasant and food okay but over priced. I usually walk the city to get outside but after a shooting in the lobby last week and a friend accosted in the elevator I stayed either in my... More

Very relaxing, I would recommend getting a room on the 1st floor, not unless you like to wait for elevator to arrive. The room I had was very nice, hidden refrigerator, (only drawback, I left my food inside of the refrigerator), coffee maker is also hidden inside the closet... Bed sleeps amazing... The hotel is located in the heart of... More

Spent four nights at the hotel whilst attending a conference. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Rooms would be as you would expect for a Hyatt Regency; good level of facilities and very comfortable. Connected to the conference center via a couple of bridges, but be prepared to walk(10 + mins) the distances are long given how huge the conference... More

Checked in Jan 7 for our annual convention: I was greeted at the door with a smile, and a door attendant who immediately welcomed me warmly. I had done a web check-in, and a front desk attendant immediately said, "Allow me to assist you." After verifying my Gold Passport and credit card information, the bell person (not sure if they're... It's a nice hotel for business purposes. The sleeping rooms are very quiet and comfortable. While the restaurants options are limited onsite and within walking distance, there are some very nice "neighborhood" restaurants within a fairly inexpensive cab ride.

I live in the Chicago area and stayed for a conference due to the unpredictable weather this time of year. Everyone from the desk check in to the desk check out could not have been kinder and most helpful. The restaurant was accommodating and even had selections for vegetarian and gluten free!

Loved the room and the staff.. Shower was a bit to be desired. Couldn't get hot water. Hotel really needs a different restaurant. Overpriced and food wasn't that great. We were there for a conference and wee wanted a sit down restaurant but didn't want to pay 14.00 for pancakes.

Staying in South Loop

Neighborhood Profile
South Loop
This downtown neighborhood offers a variety of activities ranging from cultural to sporting. If you happen to visit during football season, you may bump into a boisterous few fans on their way to a Bears game on the southernmost tip of South Loop. On the flip side, Museum Campus offers cultural and educational experiences in its planetarium, museum and aquarium, all situated along the lakefront. Grant Park is one of Chicago’s premier locations for green space and recreation with views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline. Take a stroll down memory lane in the historic Prairie District where you can enjoy views of old historic homes. Restaurants, theaters, and clubs are spread throughout the neighborhood along with a collection of burger joints along Michigan Avenue just across from the park.
