Really nice hotel, with comfortable rooms. Restaurants on site had quality food, but service was slow. Convenient location to convention center, but not much else in the area. If you are lucky enough to get a lake view, it is quite beautiful!

I had a great experience! The hotel has typical Hyatt high quality: Wifi worked perfectly, coffee maker and everything else in good working order. The room was clean and comfortable. I had dinner with some friends the first evening and we had a terrific meal at the Shor restaurant. I had a terrific lake view from my window as well... More

I have to admit I was not enthusiastic about a convention hotel experience, but this was a quiet hotel, perfect for the convention I was at, and while it was a little isolated from some downtown things, all in all a perfect venue for the purpose. The staff was outstanding, and the hotel and services were all you could ask for.

The hotel was great. Nice and clean rooms, great size. The room had nice detailing like motion censor night lights, in room safe & coffee maker, etc. The bathroom was a little dimly lit, but the fancy mirrors made up for it. Ordered room service a couple times for breakfast and the service & food was great. Only two complaints.... More

Was fortunate to get hyatt for himss 2015. Hotel is standard hyatt quality. The fitness center is top notch ad hyatt does a great job with this. Rooms are medium sized and beds are comfortable. This is the only way to do big events at McCormick !

The room was clean and comfortable, but the food was awful and extremely expensive. Also, I was kicked off the guest wifi every couple of minutes and was blocked from using my data while in my room. The location of the hotel was awesome (close to the bus stop, 5-10 min ride to downtown). The staff was friendly and helpful,... More

Great hotel that is very nicely decoration with upscale finishes. Staff is great, rooms are nice. Not much to do in walking distance though and the prices of the amenities at the hotel, such as a bottle of water or a beer are too high for my liking.

Dear Roger G, I'm so happy that you enjoyed our newly renovated decor and finishes. While we are a bit south of the Magnificent Mile shopping and dining districts, we are walking distance to some other Chicago attractions like Soldier Field, Museum Campus, and Northerly Island. Please keep us in mind for future visits to these Chicago tourist stops. Thank... More

Waking up to snow on my 1st morning was beyond describable. Great staff and friendly, as well. I got lost a few times with getting on the right elevator for the convention center attached, which us directly across the street. I loved the breakfast Buffett especially your personalized cooked omelette. One fascinating takeaway from this establishment was the All Gender... More

I stayed at this hotel since it was close to the convention I was attending. I didn't know it was very far from the city and not really in a great area. Nothing is in walking distance from the hotel. You pretty much have to cab-it to everything, including restaurants, local attractions, ect.. That being said, this hotel is really... More

My daughter and I stayed at this hotel for the National All Girls Chess Championship. With over 300 girls and their families (and other conference attendees), I was pleasantly surprised how easy it was for us to park our car, check-in, and get to my daughter's tournaments. We realized the hotel, after all, was designed to serve McCormick Place (one... More

Dear benlwong, Thank you very much for your detailed account of your experience. It's great to know that the little touches like the chess boards are appreciated. Staying in South Loop

Neighborhood Profile
South Loop
This downtown neighborhood offers a variety of activities ranging from cultural to sporting. If you happen to visit during football season, you may bump into a boisterous few fans on their way to a Bears game on the southernmost tip of South Loop. On the flip side, Museum Campus offers cultural and educational experiences in its planetarium, museum and aquarium, all situated along the lakefront. Grant Park is one of Chicago’s premier locations for green space and recreation with views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline. Take a stroll down memory lane in the historic Prairie District where you can enjoy views of old historic homes. Restaurants, theaters, and clubs are spread throughout the neighborhood along with a collection of burger joints along Michigan Avenue just across from the park.
