Great location and nice atmosphere in common areas but the room was dated and beginning to show many signs of it's age; time to replace carpeting, loose electrical outlet in bathroom, one blackout curtain was missing the rod to shut/open the blind. Room cleanliness appeared average at a first glance however upon closer observation it was very clear that the... More

This is a large Hyatt hotel -- on East Wacker -- beautiful view of River and lake. I'm giving this excellent marks based on they way the hotel handled a check-in issue. It is a reflection of the training -- and attention to client service that Hyatt embeds in their selection of staff and the manner in which they train... More

My wife and I arrived after a tiring flight from UK. We arrived at the hotel at about 5.30 so you can imagine the traffic from O'Hare to downtown Chicago. We were greeted by a very friendly doorman who escorted us to the east tower. The check in took minutes and soon we were whisked to our room on the... More

This hotel is great, we got a good rate from a friend that works for Hyatt. We unfortunately arrived too late to get the room type we reserved but we were upgraded to a river view which made us happy. It's in a great location with easy access to transportation. Giordano's is within walking distance too, a must-have!

Room was ready early for us...but I am a gold member....just sign up and you can too. So check in fast. Had a couple choices for room locations. Parking in the lot for at Millennium....cheaper and good for getting the train to wrigley, and wrigley to soldier field. Buses ran after the Football game and took us bak to Millennium... More

This hotel was very close to the Magnificent Mile. We had a view of the Chicago River. It is a large hotel with a lot going on at all times. We appreciated the lemon water upon arrival. The wifi was intermittent in the room and the beds were not the comfiest. Otherwise, the room was clean and everything was adequate.... More

I stayed three nights at the Hyatt Regency on business. The hotel is a large city hotel in a good location to see some familiar sights (Navy Pier, Millennium Park, etc.). The hotel has two towers (East and West) and my room was in the West tower. The Room: - Good size - Kept clean during my stay. - Bed... More

Attending a conference at the Hyatt on wacker dr is a pleasant experience with the warmth welcome from concierge to room service, I had a great time. Prompt room service and mail delivery was an added value of this Hyatt. One stop shop indeed!

Our stay must have been charmed--I had booked the cheapest available room, which was very basic, and at check-in, the clerk offered us a free upgrade to a room with a river view and refrigerator. The concierge was more than happy to direct us to the walkable Wendella Boat tours location and assist us with transportation to various restaurants. The... More

The hotel is huge and the largest in Chicago (according to the river tour we took). Superb location, right in the downtown by the river, 1 minute walk to the Magnificent Mile and the Cultural Mile. So excellent location for accessing the city on foot, you can easily walk to the lake, the shops, the parks on the lake front... More

Staying in Downtown / The Loop

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown / The Loop
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.
