Was in town on business for 4 nights at the Wyndham. Cannot say enough good things about location. Downtown, next to the river, across from Trump tower, restaurants, etc. Hotel was just a Hotel. I think it recently was bought by Wyndham. Doors looked old, large gap on entry door bottom allows you to hear elevators and other guests. My... More

Fairly good standard. Huge hotel. Nothing specially cosy, the lobby just a spot to check in. The hotel functions well, but it is not really well cleaned. Our room was never cleaned properly, and we had to call for replacement of amenities, since housekeeping did forget it. Coffee maker available in rooms - again we had to call for coffee,... More

"free" internet ie 1997 dial up. welcome to 2015. Please get with the times. For a 4 star hotel this was embarrassing. I didn't want to pay $14 a day for internet when you advertise free internet. Also, I found it very strange that there was only 1 vending machine on the 25 floor and at 1 o'clock in the... More

Easy to get to shopping, museums and restaurants. Lovely view of the river - especially at night.

Stayed two nights as start of Route 66 road trip. First time in Chicago. Chose this hotel as it was a good price considering it's location near to the downtown area and main points. This is opposite the Trump tower on the other side of the river. This comes in handy when out drinking at night as you can always... More

We spent at a long weekend and were very pleased with this resort. The staff was incredibly friendly and personable. Our room was clean and quiet. We liked that we could quickly get in and out without long waits at the elevator or desk. The best part about the resort is the location, ideally situated on the river between the... More

Staying in Downtown / The Loop

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown / The Loop
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.
