I stayed here the night before I had a major job interview. Caterina at the front desk made sure that I had a quiet room at the end of the hall and gave me the scoop on storing my luggage and getting a taxi the next day. When I returned after a long day of interviewing, she immediately greeted me... More

From the moment we pulled up to the curb with our luggage, we were treated like royalty. Charles would not let me move one piece of luggage. He took care of us as if we were family. The personnel were all very accommodating. When the bell/doorman Mark Zematis found out it was our 35th Wedding Anniversary, a bottle of champagne... More

I had reserved a room on the hotel website, specifying a bathtub, not just shower. When I arrived, Kenny conducted an exhaustive search for this type of room, but found no available rooms with tubs in the category I reserved. He offered me an upgrade to a suite. I was pleasantly surprised, since hotels usually do not guarantee they can... More

After traveling for a week prior to this stay, I was extremely tired upon arrival. The only thing on my mind was getting into bed, but I found that there was a deep grease like stain on the top sheet. This obviously made me question the cleanliness of the rest of the room. I was also placed right next to... More

The Wyndham was a wonderful hotel. It was conveniently located to my office, just a few minutes walk away. It had a great view of the river, and you can get to the riverwalk easily. The staff was friendly, and upgraded me to a suite simply because one was available, I didn't ask for it. The room was absolutely huge,... More

The Wyndham Grand Chicago Riverfront was a great hotel, location, facility, for someone visiting downtown Chicago. Shops, restaurants, entertainment, river walks and cruise, all right near by. The staff and facilities were excellent and the price was reasonable. We definitely will return here. There was one small issue we did face: the room we had did not have much drawer... More

I stayed here a month ago and had a not very successful visit. I am pleased to report how this turned out well. First, the location is fabulous, right on the river and next to Michigan Avenue. Spectacular city scape! Walking distance to the blue line to O'Hare airport. Anyway, the first visit was just one night. The internet was... More

The Wyndham has a great location, and the room had a beautiful, panoramic view of the Chicago River. Rates were a bit high, but the room was clean and the staff were very helpful.

Staying in Downtown / The Loop

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown / The Loop
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.
