Great location! Beautiful hall! Good food at the restaurant downstairs and drinks. Nice service. Some of the furniture is outdated in the rooms. So it looks less luxurious then it could have been presented. Free wifi. They are very accommodating with the luggage after checkout.

I'm planning my vacation to the plaza this year as well. Such a pretty place abs so much fun to wander at night. The staff was so friendly letting us see the ballroom off season. I can't wait to go again.

Lovely place, nice bar, and perfect room. Bed super comfy. Location great, close to many places in Loop and public transportation. Staff friendly and helpful. Parking pricey but I used the lots just west a half block. Check out Spot hero app.

Traveled to Chicago for the weekend. Took the train from the airport and was about a mile walk which was pretty good to the Congress Plaza hotel which is right across the way from Grant Park. We were there to explore the city and the location was perfect. We walked up and down "the mile" and the hotel, home base,... More

This is a massive, grand dame of an historic hotel with some breathtaking features — stunning mosaics span the lengths of soaring ceilings; marble, marble everywhere; taller than tall windows offering spectacular views of Lake Michigan and the city; reception halls dripping in elegance from eras gone by ... however, the poor Congress Plaza has seen its better days and... Stood in congress after my flight got cancelled, didnt regret it at all. They had happy hour from 6 to 7, the staff was so helpful with assisting me and my family with my needs, and everything was super clean! It wasn't noisy, Lets rememeber we are in south beach and this hotel has been the quietest one I have stayed... More

Parking sucks in Chicago period, its expensive. It cost $40.00 to park over night from check in to check out. We only stayed one night. The room was $103.00 and we were on the 8th floor. The room was clean, the room was warm, and the beds were fine. It's an old building with some nostalgia. The restaurant and bar... More

I checked in with a Groupon coupon. I asked the clerk if I could have a particular section in the hotel. She replied no, the Groupon purchase did not allow it. I asked a few more questions to understand her. She however fashioned herself a mind reader as she gave me a answer before I had even finished my sentences.... More

I am a disabled veteran and I have never been treated as badly as I was at this hotel. We were attending our son's wedding on Jan 17th at the Congress and I came in from 0 degree weather outside needing a wheelchair to attend the ceremony and reception. I was rudely told I had to ask for one at... More

Staying in Downtown / The Loop

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown / The Loop
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.
