McCormick Convention center an easy cab or shuttle ride away. Quiet rooms on inner courtyards available. Close to Art Institute, short walk to Blue Line to ORD. Only drawback is that our room door needed hard pull to close properly, and we found it left ajar after maid had departed.

My wife and I stayed here during the weekend of October 12, 2014 while I ran the Chicago Marathon. This was the least expensive of the hotels offered by the touring company. $225 per night plus tax, three night minimum. This was an excellent location for my marathon. However, the hotel is older and needs some upgrading. It cost us... More

The hotel was perfect. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful, everyone was right there to help. Free internet, great history, fun attitude. LOVED the feel of the place. You walk into the room imagining the past. No terrible scary things happened, but the place just carries the air - which is awesome. Loved all parts of this experience. My... More

The Congress Plaza Hotel was not our first choice, but others nearby were sold out for the date we needed. We got a reasonable price on Priceline for a Lake View room. I agree with some of the comments about this hotel, but the North Tower IS about 120 years old. The ceilings are high, the bathroom (Room 1178) was... More

Ok, you read the reviews. You know some loved it, some detested it. It's old, it's beat up, so why stay here? And we will stay again it it's just for a one or two night stay (would go elsewhere if longer). It's all about location and price. We stayed here for two nights to take in a football game... More

location is great, price is ok. 1st floor is ok but once you get in the room it really is what you pay for. Do not get the North Tower because it is old , smells like it and has no heating adjustment options. South tower is better but not still pretty outdated and just OLD. the heating adjustment options... More

I usually write a review about some place that we have taken delight in visiting, be it modest or fancy, and rarely am I profoundly disappointed. I paid a high price ($340+) to stay in a long-reserved (almost 3 months) room in a classic hotel that should have been surrounded by good views of Chicago, with the best directly out... More

We stayed here for a marathon event. Requested lake view which was nice. Close to all shopping and touristy areas within walking distance. Older hotel however clean and comfortable. Very quiet and competent housekeeping staff. Parking in nearby lot is ok but when you pick up your car at checkout it can take awhile due to everyone leaving at same... More

I wish I could have a fractional ownership of room 1201 because it would be the most awesome pied a terre in the history of real estate. The views of the lake and the city are breathtaking. The suite has an enormous living room, two huge closets, a nicely updated bathroom, and a cozy bedroom. Tall ceilings, beautiful moldings, quaint... More

I am from NYC and this place is CREEPY! I was disgusted to find that my consulting company thought that a girl from NYC would actually approve this smelly, disgusting, no heat available, hell hole for me to stay in. That being said, I am quitting my job and heading back to NYC. Thanks, Congress Hotel, for showing the Midwest's... More
