Called before making the reservation to confirm the pool was open. She said it was. Called after making the reservation to ask for a higher floor so our room doesn't smell like the pool. Ok, she said. At check-in I asked what floor the pool was on "floor 9" she replied. Put suit on, went to floor 9 and saw... More

Wanted to get away from Atlanta for the weekend, hoped a flight to Chicago for some shopping and fun in the city. We stayed at this location due to proximity to navy pier, magnificent mile shopping and great restaurants. Had a room on the 38th floor with city view the room itself is fine the bed I give 5 stars... More

Great location for sightseeing and shopping in Chicago. Pool not available and gym area being refurbished so only a limited amount of equipment. Shower was very poor in our room, but bed was really really comfortable. Busy hotel in a big city so room size wasn't bad considering its location.

in 2013, we visited the Marriott as part of a business trip. Being the first time in Chicago, we had no expectations walking into the hotel. Upon first entrance, we were greeted by professional, friendly & happy bellman who took our luggages right to our room after checking in. When we got our room, the king size bed was absolutely... I am extremely disappointed in my stay at the Marriott Downtown Chicago. I am a business traveler with loyalty to Marriott and find that this is the worst Marriott hotel I have stayed in. The room is small, especially the bathroom. The shower drain didn't work and the tiles were old and molded. The location is great, but I can... More

I think this hotel has the best beds I have ever slept in. You just sink when you get in it. Rooms with King beds are very comfortable. The rooms with two double beds are tight. Hotel has excellent restaurant and lobby bar...with a Starbucks inside. Withing walking distance to all Michigan Avenues stores.

Location. Fantastic. Chicago doesn't dissapoint but this hotel was a bust for our local staycaction. Took my family of four with 2 girls. One attraction to the hotel was the pool only to get there and find out the pool has been closed up for good. As of 8/25/15. So strike one out of the box for us but we... More

We spent 4 nights/5days in Chicago in July and stayed at the Magnificent Mile Marriott on the 33rd floor. Great room and location. Would definitely stay again. Saw other reviews noting the busy and loud lobby. It was busy and it was loud but did not bother us at all, certainly not a complaint.

I recently attended a conference in Chicago and decided to stay at the Downtown marriott on Michigan Ave aka " Magnificent Mile ". This is a very busy hotel in a very busy part of town. That being said this hotel was loud and unpleasant. The hotel lobby and bar is like a big " fishbowl". During my stay there... More

Great location. We specifically picked this hotel for the location and because it had a pool. We were dressed in our suits and went down to the pool to find a sign that it is closed. It says to talk to the front desk for a pool option. They tell me that we get a discount at the health club... More

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
