I received a great deal on a multi-night stay at this hotel through Pricline, but after reading the reviews, I was a bit apprehensive about staying here, as the reviewers had very mixed experiences. However, our stay was very good. This hotel is one of the oldest in the city. It dates back to when hotel rooms were much smaller... More

The rooms were comfy and clean, a teeny bit dated, but the price was low. The cafe was convenient, but so was the location! Excellent location, we were able to walk everywhere. This place is in the epicenter or retail heaven! Would stay again. P.S. Parking was ridiculous and no free wi-fi outside of the lobby, but parking is ridiculous... More

My stay was okay, didn’t know what to expect because reviewers have had very different experiences at this hotel. First, it is in an excellent location to walk to most of the tourist attractions, the staff I came in contact with were friendly and the lobby area was nice - My queen room on the 8th floor was clean but... Well located just a block off Michigan Avenue in the Miracle Mile area. Every major and many not-so-well known shops only minutes away via a pleasant walk. Dining brings every imaginable taste equally close including dining on Lake Michigan cruises from Navy Pier about six blocks to the east.

First off the location of this hotel is great. You can't beat the location for the price, you are walking distance or a very short cab/uber ride to almost every single major Chicago spot. Most places we went to we walked. The Hotel 100% needs some major updating though. The wall paper, carpet, bathrooms show their age. When I first... More

I had a double bed room (approx $205/night). It was a girls weekend for my 40th bday. This place feels like a converted old building....and has the bandaid repairs to boot. The bathroom had on small wall hung sink (NO COUNTER TOP). I think the closet had more room than that bath room. The AC didn't work all that great,... More

Stayed there for three nights in May. The hotel is fairly close to everything. Nothing fancy by any means and the room is quite small. There is no free wifi and the bar in the hotel is very small. It did the trick but not sure I would stay there again. Would probably find something a bit nicer.

Solid location, friendly staff. My room was clean but very basic. You can tell the hotel has been spruced up at least superficially in recent years but they did not choose to update the elevators and bathrooms to make them larger (both functional but very small) and there is a bit of shabbiness in the hallways. Don't expect any free... More

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
