This is a beautiful old hotel, right on Michigan Ave but a nice walk from downtown, the pier and the magnificent mile. We did a girls week and walked & biked everywhere. The employees we dealt with were awesome. Don was very courteous at check in and Claire, the Concierge, was amazing! I recommend doing a hotel tour if you... More

We went to Chicago Sept. 2014 for a little weekend get-away. The Blackstone was a wonderful experience, as the service is top-notch. The front desk & concierge were always extremely helpful, and the front door guys (1 in particular but can't remember his name!) were phenomenal. I got a package deal through Southwest Airlines vacations, so the price was very... More

I'm always a bit leery of a hotel in a building that is over a century old. Even though they've usually been "refurbished", you never know what that means - sometimes it is hard to fix "old bones." However, with The Blackstone, that is not the case. They've successfully kept the "old world charm" of the building, such as the... More

if you are looking for more than a hotel stay in downtown Chicago, I recommend the Blackstone experience. This is not a "cookie cutter" corporate hotel but a trip back into a time where service was more than a buzzword. No need in looking far for a dining experience with the Mercat a la Planxa adjacent to the lobby, wonderful... More

I stayed here for the Chicago Rock n Roll half marathon in July. It was the perfect location. Everything I wanted to see was within walking distance although after 4 days of site-seeing and running a 5k and half marathon, I was exhausted! (The cure for that is a reflexology place a few blocks down the street!) I took the... More

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The staff was excellent and the turn down service was unexpected but lovely. I thought the location was perfect with plenty of restaurants around and a Starbucks downstairs (much needed in the morning)! I would gladly stay here again.

Spent two nights in Chicago mid-September, really glad we chose The Blackstone. We flew into Midway Airport, landed 10pm, took the subway orange line to Roosevelt station then walked about 10 minutes to the hotel. Very easy, felt safe walking around at night. Hotel is in great location overlooking park and Buckingham Fountain. Our reservation guaranteed a king bed but... More

Thanks, Magnus Maximus for taking the time to write a review! I am thrilled you enjoyed your stay. One additional tip - Before you go to the Yolk - which is a great nearby breakfast spot - go and ask our concierge and they often are able to provide you with a card that gets you "hurry Up" seating in... Only stayed one night. The staff was great. Wonderful historic hotel. Great view of Soldier Field from the room. Booked months in advance through priceline & got a great deal. Good location, but not in walking distance from downtown.

This grand old hotel has a long history and has great accommodations. Instead of staying at holiday inn or Marriott, try this hotel. The room is very large, the bathroom is really big and there is plenty of storage space. No complaints at all, it is a must see.

The Blackstone is not "downtown" but it is in the center of all activity that makes Chicago such a fun city. The staff is awesome. We first stayed at the Blackstone several months ago and the staff remembered us upon our return! Have a question about anything connected with Chicago? They have the answer. Need anything (tickets, reservations, etc.)? They... More
