I had a couple of issues that where not within the control of the staff but did make my stay unpleasant. However, when I called to complain after my trip, the manager on duty really listened to my concerns and promised to fix them. She even credited me half my stay because of the inconvenience (after she confirmed the incident)

Great one night stay! It's a quaint little hotel that sits unassumingly between the very fun Wrigleyville and Boystown neighborhoods. The rooms in the new wing are awesome. A nicely appointed kitchenette and sitting area meet a really wonderful bathroom with a rainfall shower. All that and it's a deal for Chicago!

only reason to stay here is to walk to wrigley. hotel is dated , needs carpet change and with exception of a skinny blonde lady on night crew , the staff at front desk is unfriendly, will not look up or acknowledge you on entry/exit of hotel. rooms were musty although neighborhood is great. given all the taxis in chicago,i... Hotel is an aged building with many problems both physical and with staffing. If you book, ask questions about the amenities, and what is broken. If you need ice and vending, make sure you are on a floor that has it. If you want a whirlpool, ask if it is working before you book. Otherwise the beds are clean and... More

I am a Gay man and stayed at this hotel with my partner of 15 years. The staff is open-minded and friendly and treated us as they would any other guest. The hotel guests are a mix of people (Straight and Gay) from various cultures -- an eclectic mix. The best feature of this hotel is its LOCATION in the... More

We wanted to stay close to our son, who lives in the Lakeview area of Chicago. Our junior sweet was very large and comfortable for 3-4 people. This hotel is charming, the staff is most helpful, and it is a great location - close to the lake AND to the CTA express bus for our sightseeing in downtown Chicago. Same... More

This gem of a hotel has a great location just off Lake Michigan. Ask for a room in the annex and you'll be even happier. The annex rooms amenities are great - especially the bathrooms. The bed in our room was as comfortable as our bed at home! It's a little pricey but there isn't much else in this neighborhood.

Perfect location, close to several terrific restaurants and shops. Just a couple blocks from Lakeshore Drive and Lake Michigan. Close to Wrigley Field. If you're bringing a car, plan on spending an additional $30 / day for the garage. Best plan is to leave the car behind, plenty of transportation to be found by cab, bus, train, or even rental... We visited Chicago to see our son for a few days. I would highly recommend the Hawthorne. The room we had was wonderful, king bed and sleeper pull out with a small efficiency kitchen. For a modest fee, we could park our car right next door or they have zip cars if you need one. They had hot breakfast items... More
