Super clean, attractively designed and very comfortable, the House of Two Urns has an artistic vibe and a delicious breakfast. We loved our room. The hosts do a great job of making you feel at home. Their supporting material for enjoying Chicago is the best I have seen. They have guides to stores, services and restaurants in walking distance -... More

We stayed here to be near our daughter that lives in wicker park. There are few alternatives to the big hotels and this suited our needs to a tee. Delicious breakfasts and clean rooms were especially notable. We will definitely stay here when visiting Chicago in the future!

Just returned from a week in Chicago seeing all the sites. We feel like we really lucked out with this place - found online. The House of Two Urns is special. The location is wonderful, quiet, residential but short walk to bus and train - that will take you anywhere easily. The rooms are lovely and very clean, nice towels,... More

We stayed two nights in the Alcova room. Our room was clean and spacious. The house is pleasantly decorated with art and antiques. The breakfast was good both days. It is conveniently located to the blue line train, shops, and restaurants. Our hostess was accommodating but not very friendly which made our group feel unwelcome.

I wear a lot of hats at the inn, but I do not force myself on guests - so when guests know where they are headed and don't need help or ask questions, I let them enjoy their breakfast. I willingly make suggestions on things to do or help guests figure out what order to efficiently accomplish their "to see"... More

Although my stay here was exceptionally short (just one night), I did enjoy it very much. I stayed in the Walnut room (across the street in bldg. 1259) which is a single sleeper with an in-suite bathroom. I was impressed with the decor and the cleanliness. The only disadvantage in this room is that the communal kitchen is just outside... More

We stayed in the ground floor 3-bedroom apartment for close to three weeks and can only report positive points. The location is great, central and close to a lot of cool restaurant and shopping. The apartment is very cozy. You can tell someone has spent a great deal of time wondering how to make their guests as comfortable as possible.... More

We booked our room, the king, for a one night stay for two people. The main selling point of this room is the private bathroom with the jacuzzi and this is exactly why we booked this room. The booking was made 7 or 8 days prior to our stay. Two days prior to our stay (while I was at work)... More

This reviewer did book for one night, arranging a late arrival after 10:30 pm about a week prior to arrival. Regular guests, who had booked 10 nights with us 4 months ago awaiting the birth of a new grandchild, had to arrive a few days early as their granddaughter was born earlier than the expected due date and they came... I stayed at the House of Two Urns last week for a writer's residency/retreat, and had a wonderful experience. I'd previously shied away from B & Bs because I somewhat enjoy the anonymity of hotels, but the delicious food and cozy, unique space at the Two Urns have made me a fan. It was truly like being at a home... More

We have stayed here three times and every time has been a delight. The rooms are well appointed with high quality furniture and linens. The bathrooms are spacious and include handmade soaps, scented oils for the jacuzzi and spa robes. The kitchen has all the basic necessities, along with coffee, tea and popcorn. On our last visit, we ordered a... More

We visited over Christmas. Everything was wonderful. We got in late and had directions to let ourselves in. Not disturbing anyone in the process. We had the entire second floor to ourselves and a private bath across the hall. Breakfasts were also pleasant. Enjoyed visiting with other guests as well. Beautifully decorated for Christmas. Was a pleasant surprise Christmas morning... More
