Convenient, affordable, and luxurious are just a few words I would use to describe Sally Baker's Gold Coast Guest House. During our stay, we were delighted by all the little (and much appreciated) details the guest house had to offer. Upon our arrival we found our room to be very clean and had fantastically comfortable bedding. The private bathroom had... More

My spouse and I just returned from a long weekend in Chicago, and are already looking forward to our next trip. This B&B charmed us completely, providing all the comforts of home and then some. The kitchen was stocked with "continental breakfast" items--foodstuffs which enabled us to start each day with a healthy breakfast, with some added indulgences. The location... More

We stayed at the Gold Coast in December of last year, as part of a trip to catch up with old friends that we hadn;t seen in a while. The Gold Coast was recommended by some old friends, and what an excellent recommendation it was! Our room was very nicely appinted, cozy, and serene.... a nice antidote from some rather... More

I stay here every time I come to Chicago. It has three floors with a dramatic 2-story window overlooking a garden. My travel is work-related, and I find I am able to get some good work done sitting at the kitchen table that overlooks the garden, listening to the quiet classical music. It has a spiral staircase, parquet floors, and... More

My husband surprised me with a weekend here for my birthday. We live in the suburbs but like to play tourist in Chicago from time to time. The Gold Coast Guest House was just perfect: location, hospitality, value for the money, even some 'green' in January from the backyard garden ivy! Host Sally Baker is quite welcoming and went out... As part of the B&B's "thaK you", we stayed in our own city as tourists. It's something every Chicagoan should try. Stay at this B&B and walk to eveything. Go over to Michigan Avenue, Old Town, Rush Street, and Lincoln Park. The B&B was wonderful with it's own private bath, great simple but satisfying breakfast. Nothing complicated, so you could... Sally or one of the staff of women from the Christian college across the street greet you and make sure you are comfortable. This 5 room B & B is in a brownstone midblock in a quiet neighborhood near restaurants, shopping, tourism sites and the lake. A very pleasant living room walks out to the garden and the breakfast area... More

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Gold Cost Guest House for my birthday weekend and enjoyed everything about it. Great, great location a short walk away from everything in downtown Chicago. The El train is steps away if you feel like venturing out further to discover other neighbourhoods. Sally is a gracious host with lots of tips and suggestions... More

The Gold Coast Guest House is always a pleasure to stay at. My husband and I have a 9 month old, and were looking forward to this vacation as our first one since she was born. Sally was so thoughtful, and the room was fantastic! For breakfast there was a great variety of fresh fruit from the farmers market, tasty... More
