Sally Baker hosts a pleasant retreat from the Chicago hub bub, This is a casual place with a real homey flavor. The breakfast table is open all day so you can set your own times. There are always pastries and other breakfast goodies for the taking. The kitchen is open so you can go across the street to a neighborhood...

The most important aspect of the Gold Coast Guest House is location, location, location! It is the greatest!! Easy walking to transportation and every style of restaurant you could possibly desire is within blocks. If you have any type of mobility issue, this is NOT the accommodation for you. Steps down to get in, and only one bedroom on that... More

I'm originally from Chicago but have lived in Europe for a long time. In the past when I've been back I've stayed at one of Sally Baker's long-term apartments (i.e., for 3-4 weeks). Those have always been great; clean, well furnished, conveniently located. And Sally always makes sure we have everything we need, in addition to being a great ambassador... More

My husband and I stayed at the Gold Coast Guest House for 4 nights in August 2013. The B&B is charming and has a small outdoor space full of plants which was nice to sit outside for a bit. The house is all updated and our room was very clean and comfortable. The location was great. About 3 blocks to... More

We have stayed in many B&B's over the years and this one is a winner. From the minute we walked in, we were taken aback by all of the attention to detail. Sally was very welcoming and offered great advice and suggestions on places to go and things to see in Chicago. We stayed for 6 nights and it felt... More

I was in Chicago for a conference and stayed at Gold Coast Guest House for 6 nights. In fact my conference was on S. Michigan Ave. The guest house is at the edge of town, just 4 blocks west from Mag Mile but it was relatively convenient to commute to my conference venue by CTA bus Clark #22 which took... More

SHHH! Don't tell anyone else about this amazing oasis in Chicago, or it will be booked for years ahead! We made reservations for the long July 4th weekend here because it was close to family and looked nice online. Nice? Gold Coast Guest House is AMAZING! It is tucked in a quiet block between two busy, handy main streets; near... More

We just finished a three night stay at this charming, warm and homey B&B in Chicago after staying three nights at a popular highly rated Hotel a few blocks away. The only reason we did not stay all six nights at the b&b is because it was booked. It was so much more pleasant than the hotel scene for many... More

I stayed at the Gold Coast Guest House this past February, and even though it was cold outside, it was warm and inviting inside! The guest house has a great modern vibe combined with classic Chicago vintage charm. I felt so taken cared for by Larinda and Sally, and they recommended great neighborhood places like treasure Island, where I was... More
