Wow!!! Great place, location, AND Trader Todd's... All of it for the value is great!!! David (Innkeeper) was super helpful with luggage, directions, and just overall!! Why would anyone want to stay further away then all the action that within walking distance. The B & B is very authentic in its style, and decor. We were able to walk to... More

The location was perfect for us - near our daughter and near good transportation options. It is not as comfortable as a modern hotel but it was near half the price and comfortable and clean and the innkeeper is very warm and gracious and helpful. We loved the quaint old look and feel and especially the speak-easy in the basement.

My friends and I stayed for 4 nights last week. David, the innkeeper, was helpful and nice to talk with. The location was ideal, within walking distance to Wrigley field and the jogging paths along the shoreline, and easy access to all other parts of the city because of the L station just across the street. Despite the convenience, we... More

First off let me say that, David the inn keeper, is a gem to have running this place! He is a very special person to help with what ever you need! We chose this place to stay because you are so close to Wrigley Field to walk only about 5 or blocks, the neighborhood is very NICE! Never felt unsafe... More

It looks as if it was lost in time with the antiquity of the place. Location is close to Wrigley. Walls are paper thin. We could hear every word in the adjacent rooms. They need to insulate the walls. The room was dusty and had a cap to a needle sitting on the dresser. The floors squeak and wake you... More

I hesitate to even post, but this hidden gem was so fantastic, I'd hate to have others miss it. Underneath the hotel is a door. If you are clued in, you'll have the 'password'. Knock, a porthole will open. Repeat the password and enter a tiny little bar where drinks are made using only spirits and techniques from speak easy... More

The Old Chicago Inn is decorated with period furniture; for instance, the breakfast room recreates a prohibition-era speakeasy. I've stayed at the Inn a few times and have noticed the rooms vary, with some being spacious with large windows and others cozier and more secluded. The staff works hard to help the guests feel comfortable. The neighborhood is vibrant and... More

Skip the Loop and Michigan Ave tourist traps - the best parts of Chicago are the neighborhoods. I surprised my girlfriend with a little getaway to the Old Chicago Inn and it was perfect. Booking was incredibly easy, David the innkeeper helped us out with an odd arrival time and made sure we were looked after. Our favorite part: Room... More

We enjoyed the ambiance of The Old Chicago Inn. David the innkeeper and Luke the bartender made it an experience of Old Chicago. David made a delicious breakfast and Luke made wonderful drinks from the Prohibition period in Chicago at Room 13. The Speak Easy hospitality was fun and jazzman Vincent provided some great music on the piano. We'll be... More

I recently spent 2 nights at the Inn. It is a great place to stay and the location in Lakeview area is ideal. The Inn Keeper David is warm and very attentive. The rooms are very quiet and comfortable. I would stay here again. It felt like being at home!
