We were visiting our son in Chicago and wanted someplace within walking distance of a red line station. This property is close and in an area full of restaurants. David is a great host. We arrived early so he kept our luggage until our room was ready and then even carried it all up to the room on the third... More

This place is terrible. I had a corner room on the second floor that was freezing. Had to listen to drunk people from Trader Todd's and the surrounding neighborhood most of the night during both nights of my stay. I could also hear the trains from the CTA Belmont stop a block away. Room lighting is poor, there is nothing... More

Thank you for your feedback. We are indeed close to the “el” track, which is of great convenience to many of our guests, and are located in one of Chicago’s most vibrant neighborhoods’ with many restaurants, clubs and attractions which generate a fair amount of pedestrian traffic both in the day time and evening hours. In this urban setting we... More

My husband and I were leveraging a business trip to do a long weekend celebrating our wedding anniversary. While we were at the Inn, we arranged to have a flight of '20s era cocktails in the speakeasy downstairs, Room 13. I know what you're thinking - tourist trap. No, it really wasn't. It was intimate and unless you're a guest... More

My wife, friend and I spent two wonderful evenings at the Old Chicago Inn, and found both rooms very comfortable and the Innkeeper, David, a delightful host! We enjoyed a great Chicago Cubs game and Wrigley Field and the Cubs even won! It doesn't get better than that. We enjoyed several nice chats with Innkeeper David, who was friendly, and... More

Wow!!! Great place, location, AND Trader Todd's... All of it for the value is great!!! David (Innkeeper) was super helpful with luggage, directions, and just overall!! Why would anyone want to stay further away then all the action that within walking distance. The B & B is very authentic in its style, and decor. We were able to walk to... More

The location was perfect for us - near our daughter and near good transportation options. It is not as comfortable as a modern hotel but it was near half the price and comfortable and clean and the innkeeper is very warm and gracious and helpful. We loved the quaint old look and feel and especially the speak-easy in the basement.

My friends and I stayed for 4 nights last week. David, the innkeeper, was helpful and nice to talk with. The location was ideal, within walking distance to Wrigley field and the jogging paths along the shoreline, and easy access to all other parts of the city because of the L station just across the street. Despite the convenience, we... More

First off let me say that, David the inn keeper, is a gem to have running this place! He is a very special person to help with what ever you need! We chose this place to stay because you are so close to Wrigley Field to walk only about 5 or blocks, the neighborhood is very NICE! Never felt unsafe... More

It looks as if it was lost in time with the antiquity of the place. Location is close to Wrigley. Walls are paper thin. We could hear every word in the adjacent rooms. They need to insulate the walls. The room was dusty and had a cap to a needle sitting on the dresser. The floors squeak and wake you... More
