Went to Chicago to attend a wedding event, and had the most plesant experience at the Union League Club in Chicago. The rooms were small but very comfortable and efficient. If you want more than a room, there are huge suites and the prices are very reasonable for a downtown location. Can't say enough about the comfort of the beds... More

The Union League Club is a private club that, in the style of the days gone by, offers sleeping rooms for their members and guests. The club is very luxurious with high ceilings and beautiful massive old furniture. It is located on Jackson between LaSalle and Dearborn, just steps away from the financial district. Although the address is on Jackson,... More

I stayed at the ULC for a business conference also held in the hotel, so it was obviously very convenient. If I hadn't been attending the conference, however, I'm not sure anything made this hotel particularly stand out from others in the Chicago Loop. The Pros: - Location in the "Loop," next door to Intelligentsia coffee shop and easy walking... More

An old, historic, downtown club. Restaurants, athletic club, meeting rooms, real library, gents bar, rooms for rent. But it's much more. Best selling authors, every month, politicians come and speak, almost every month they have a LIVING Medal of Honor Recipient come and speak. Not uncommon to see a Marine Corps officer or Navy personnel in the lobby as special... More

We stayed here for a long weekend and attended a wedding that was held at the club on Saturday night. Everything at the club was top notch, from the reception, concierge, rooms, athletic facilities, etc. The staff seemed willing to do anything possible to make your stay comfortable. There is a strict dress code at the club, and if you'd... More

I was unsure what to expect from this hotel till I went there, primarly because of the strict dress code. I took the train from the airport to the Jackson station and the club is a 2 minute walk (ultra convenient). The rooms in the club are very clean and comfy with a nice bathroom (no bath-tub though). The bed... More

This is a private club which requires sponrship by a member or a member of a reciprocal club. Prior negative reviews were before to a total room renovation finished in about 2007. I have stayed here many times. The staff is friendly, efficient, and unobtrusive, in a sort of small European hotle or old fashioned private club way. The rooms... More

We stayed at the Union League Club hotel as a guest of our daughter's boyfriend and found it to be a great choice in disturb Chicago. It is located in the business/banking district, but is walking distance to the Chicago Art Institute and Millenium Park, and a longer walk to the shopping district. The rooms are business hotel small, the... More

The service we received was average. The room itself was quite large but the bathroom was very small and had very little counter space. We did not care for the downtown location, the expensive parking, the required dress code and that breakfast was not included in the price of the hotel. We did like the comfortable beds and the available... More

The Union League Club is the epitome of old world “Elegance”. Dark wood paneling and thick leather chairs. Artwork hung in every corner. Yes it is a little pretentious. This private club is like a giant mansion. The wide sweeping staircases are polished oak, leading up to the dining area (one of several). The room was decorated for a large... More
