This history and fascinating architecture of the Union League Club was impressive. Nice clubhouse and ballroom. Great library and art collection. Great location. The actual guest rooms however were sorely disappointing. Rusty fixtures, broken mirrors, broken soap-dishes, exposed pipes and faulty room fixtures are items I would expect from a low-end no-tell motel, not an establishment that purports to be... More

Yes, the ULC has standards: excellent service, good food, and great prices for rooms and meals. In exchange, they ask that people dress and act like ladies and gentlemen. If that's a stretch for you, you won't enjoy the ULC of Chicago. If, on the other hand, you are constantly dismayed by the vulgarians you see in most hotels, the... More

I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed your experience at the ULC. I hope you had an opportunity to visit our newly renovated Rendezvous bar and enjoy some of the new items we've added to our menu. (So far, the Seared Pacific Halibut Tacos and the Trio of Deviled Eggs with Butter Poached Lobster have been the favorites). I'd love... More

Very convenient to all Loop business meetings and the club is great for being able to stay, eat and work in a safe and quiet environment. I found the rooms to be of average size and quality. The bathrooms can be very small. There are no refrigerators in the room. Staff is very courteous but it can be slow to... More

It is unfortunate that we were unable to meet your expectations during your stay. We pride ourselves on providing the best service among not only city clubs, but hotels as well. Though I know it's difficult to revisit a place after you had a bad experience, I hope you will consider staying with us again the next time you're in... More

Beautiful old hotel with an exquisite art collection. So much history! Make sure to check out the ballroom and library while you are there. Staff was over the top friendly and accommodating. Rooms are small but nicely furnished. Great location for shopping and theater.

I've been a member at the ULCC for a number of years. It is more than 100 years old and has tremendous charm. Renovated overnight accommodations. The second largest private art collection in Chicago (including a Monet) and great food at all of their 3 restaurants. They also have a state of the art workout facility.

Outstanding stay, beautifully decorated-king suite was perfect. The club stands alone-the staff was outstanding. Location good when in the Loop. The athletic areas are great, the pool is beautiful. I did not get a chance to eat at the club, but will next time.

Great historic hotel. Original works of art throughout, even in some of the suites. Clean, great service, and convenient. Don't arrive expecting chain brands sterile approach to hotel design and ambiance. This site is unique, convenient and definitely worth staying in when in Chicago.

I must brag about the Union League Club's newest attraction - no, it is not a new piece of art, but a wonderful new casual Dining and Bar area. The Rendezvous Room was an old time wood paneled men's clubby" style bar and after one year of planning, guest & member focus groups and the investment of $1M, there is... More

A fine city club. The rooms range from small to large, typical in any older venue in a city. They were very clean and well appointed. The bed in bedding were exceptional. Breakfast in the wigwam was a classic club experience. Fine art, fine linen and good food. Certainly a place to stay when in the city. As a guest,... More

What can you say about the Union League Club of Chicago? Their outstanding art collection come first to mind, followed by the food and public rooms - the latter of which are glorious. The Union League has everything you could possibly want - or need; from the barber-shop, shoe-shines, indoor pool, basketball-court, athetlic facilities, choices of dinning venues, splendid overnight...
