We spent two nights at the University Club by invitation of a member. As other reviewers correctly stated, our interior room was small and had no natural light, but was VERY quiet. The room was clean and well-appointed, the bed comfortable, the air conditioning quiet and effective. However, there should have been much brighter lamps in the room, considering the... More

Best location for seeing Chicago, just across from Millenial Park and close to Art Institute. Lovely rooms and fantastic views from the dining room. Valet parking. Just a perfect place to stay in Chicago for a show, dinner, walk and museum.

Excellent location in downtown Chicago just a half block from Millennium Park and a block from the Art museum. Hotel is dated but room was refurbished and very comfortable. Gym and weight center were quite enjoyable. For the money, one of the great values to be had in Chicago. Would definitely stay again. Only warning, ask for a room away... More

I stayed here for a wedding and had a great experience. While I prefer staying in river north closer to the nightlife, this location in the loop was very good. especially for millennium park and the art institute. there's also plenty of bars and restaurants in walking distance. the hotel itself is a beautiful old building worth exploring. they also... I am not sure if non-members or non-reciprocal club members can stay here. The location is fantastic - across the street from Millennium Park, close to el stations and pretty easy to get in and out of. We had flown into Midway, took the orange line into the city and it was a quick walk from one of the orange... More

Lunch here with a member was exceptional. Refined, professional service and world-class cuisine. Every dish was tasty and beautifully presented. For once we could carry on a conversation without shouting over other noisy diners or an intrusive sound system. The fact that it's across the street from the Art Institute makes for a wonderful, restorative afternoon. When the outdoor terrace... More

We stayed there for two nights to attend a wedding reception held there. The reception itself was just over-the-top elegant and lovely, and the library and main dining/reception rooms may be the most remarkable venues for a wedding reception I've seen. Our room was comfortable, quiet, everything up-to-date, and the athletic/workout facilities at the club -- available to guests --... More

Great location right on Michigan Avenue opposite Millennium Park. Staff were courteous and helpful. The room was spacious and well-appointed. The facilities in the Club are extensive. An excellent choice of restaurants and bars. The only negative was that the old diamond windows in our bedroom were pretty dirty - spoiling the view.

The University Club of Chicago offers location, value and service. First, the location is central so getting around Chicago is easy. Secondly, the rooms are large, with nice beds and great views, which is Part of the location. Third, the price compaired to comparable locations or properties is a deal the food is very well done and if you get... More

We got married at The University Club downtown Chicago late November last year. We were so very happy with the ease of planning (THANK YOU CHARLOTTE!) and the flow of the day. My family are in Illinois but we live in the UK so planning was never going to be easy. However, Charlotte at the club made the process as... More
