We got married at The University Club downtown Chicago late November last year. We were so very happy with the ease of planning (THANK YOU CHARLOTTE!) and the flow of the day. My family are in Illinois but we live in the UK so planning was never going to be easy. However, Charlotte at the club made the process as... More

I was in a wedding here so I am not sure what the hotel is like but I can say the food they served was great, although it was lunch, It was also beautiful with all the stained glass windows, it looked like a castle. If you are into modern buildings it probably won't be your thing.

I stayed at the University Club while travelling on business in April 2014. For a downtown hotel, my room was surprisingly large and roomy! I had a great view out of my bay window onto Michigan Avenue and the Art Institute. The room was clean and updated and the bed was really comfortable. The only negatives were the noise outside... We recently stayed at the University Club. The staff is uniformly friendly and helpful, the clubhouse is beautiful, the food is great, and the athletic facilities are top notch compared with what one usually finds at a hotel. It is a non-tipping club too and that was a nice feature. The University Club has the most unbelievable location both in... More

I stayed here for a conference and had a street facing room on the fourth floor. The room was large with a big screen TV and a king sized bed. Robes were furnished and the temperature controls worked fine, although the air conditioning had been turned off. You can learn a lot from reading the reviews written by others. I... More

The University Club is the best venue I have ever visited for a wedding reception. The decor is awesome! It looks like the interior of a castle. Food is excellent, so is the service! I would recommend anyone who is invited to an event here to attend.

The University Club is in a prime location - walking distance to everything including Millenium Park, Art Institute, Michigan Ave, Water Tower Place, River Cruises, Navy Pier, train station, Lyric Opera House, theater district. A truly beautiful setting and outstanding service. The staff is exceptionally service orientated. A rare treat.

We just returned from my daughter's wedding, which was held at the University Club. About 20 of our family members stayed in their guest rooms; we had their Park Suite, and the bride and groom had the Jr. Suite. The facilities are all new, updated, top shelf. The bathrooms were palatial, with huge, wallk-in showers. The sitting room of our... More

Amazing location. Lovely historic and "old boys club" feel to the architecture and interior spaces which is a welcome change from the identikit modern hotels of today. That said, the actual rooms were very updated and contemporary. We stayed in an interior room and the room was supremely small (barely large enough for two people with 2 carry on size... More

Stayed for a wedding with the family. For a family stay, this is probably not a great choice but for business, great location, great historic relevance - this is an excellent environment. Considering the age of the Club, the rooms are reasonably sized and there wasn't any difficulty fitting a family of 4 into a 2-bed room. The workout facilities... More
