Although a little far from the Loop, the nearby L station means this is not a problem and gives you an opportunity to discover Lincoln park and the clouds of dragonflies drifting serenely off lake Michigan. Good breakfast, clean and functioning facilities, comfortable beds (4 bed premium room).

The staff couldn't have been more helpful. This is a great little gem of a hostel in one of the nicest neighborhoods in Chicago. The atmosphere is open and inviting. Rent bikes and ride around Chicago. Up and down the lake is a majorly fun experience. Lincoln park is central to everything with the zoo right there. Ubers are easy... More

I'm an on again, off again, local who found myself here for a few weeks last fall/winter and I'm long overdue writing about the vast improvements to this property since I lived here for 6 months in (2003-04). The company that took it over has done all the right things, remodeled the building while maintaining its character, and adding a... More

overall excellent experience. Staff were very friendly, and it was fun getting to meet new people. It's a bit out of the way, but an easy ride on the T, something I actually enjoy....... great price, great city

We have stayed in the hostel for 2 nights. It is not in the center of Chicago (taking into account the price, it cannot be), but not far from the subway station. The breakfast is good, but make sure you do not sleep till late morning, since the hostel is popular and you might not have too much of a... More

The hostel seemed like a good choice to stay - especially after reading the positive reviews. The positive aspects are the location of the hostel - it's relatively close to downtown and the whole area is very pleasant. But... Unfortunately, the first thing we noticed after entering the hallway, was how dirty the floor/carpet was - it seemed like no... More

Now it all depends what you expect from a hostel - I didn't expect families with children and school trips -that said the hostel is clean and much more like a hotel but with hostel amenities like laundry and shared kitchen. Staff friendly and helpful and neighbourhood folk the same. In easy reach of public transport but plenty of bars... More

This is, overall, a very good hostel accommodation located in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. When I arrived, I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a private room (no extra charges). My room was simple but nice - large bunk bed, chair & desk, walk-in closet, air conditioner, towels provided for showering, etc. No issues with noisy... More

Great hostel, pretty cool location just a couple of train stops from downtown. Staff were all very helpful and friendly, they also run activities most days to help people meet each other. Free breakfast was quality, incl. eggs and waffles. Highly recommend

I've traveled a lot, but this was the first time I traveled by myself and I was a little nervous because I knew no one. Within an two hours of being there I had already made plans to have dinner with a few bunk mates and then go to the hostel pub crawl. It was a great first night which... More
