My wife and I came for our anniversary weekend in the city -- when I checked in the receptionist informed me that we would have to pay $250 deposit for each night for incidentals even though he room was booked and paid for online I informed her that we didn't mind paying an amount for the incidentals even up to... The Ivy is in a great location, just a block and a half from Michigan Avenue with many breakfast, lunch and dinner venues, in all price ranges, within a few minutes walk. I probably should have accepted the upgrade to a king suite at check-in, as I found the queen studio rather cramped and dark. It was immediately opposite the... More

I spent one night here on a recent three day trip and my only regret was not being able to stay the other two nights. I arrived at 8am and whilst my room was not ready I was greeted by a most pleasant staff that offered me complimentary coffee and to use the lounge, or if they could assist in... More

Chicago is great. Being there for the last game of the Stanley Cup even better. Finding this hotel made it all even better. Great location and ambience. This will be my go-to for me in the future when I go for work or play.

I stayed at the Ivy instead of the huge convention hotel three blocks away...Staff very friendly and helpful, rooms immaculate with windows that open, excellent bed and bathroom. The Ivy is in a great location near Northwestern University Medical School, the Magnificent Mile, the Chicago River, the Museum of Contemporary Art and lots of restaurants and shopping. An excellent Whole... More

Very comfortable, spacious, helpful and courteous staff. Nice shower. The only thing is they did not make an effort to repair the bad TV. Latest technology is that there is a TV in the bathroom mirror.

The hotel was nice. Ive been to a few in the area, and this was an average stay. The valet rates are less than other hotels I've been too, and I always recommend valet in the city. The good was pretty good, but the kitchen, and I think the downstairs bar close at 10...I though that was pretty early. The... More

My boyfriend and I decided to spend a little bit more money and stay in a nicer hotel. I am Glad we did because this hotel was amazing. The two nights prior to checking in we stayed at a cheaper hotel a few blocks away. We could not wait to leave that other hotel so we called early and asked... More

We booked a King suite and it was quite lovely. Laminate flooring throughout - much preferable to carpeting! Modern décor, nicely spacious rooms and comfortable furniture. Very nice turn-down service with a sweet treat! The shower was luxurious and the bathroom had double sinks. Unfortunately the Sky Bar rooftop bar was closed due to weather, but we took a look... Great hotel in a great location. Rooms very modern and well appointed. Very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Price seemed high when booked, but location is expensive. I have stayed at other hotels in the local area, they are generally more expensive and not nearly as nice

Staying in Streeterville

Neighborhood Profile
Streeterville
Streeterville is where visitors head for play at Navy Pier, a pseudo amusement park and development of restaurants, shops, rides, and other activities. You’ll find lots of action and excitement on the docks. Along the pier, you’ll see the statue of the captain for whom Streeterville is named. While you enjoy your fair share of sightseeing at the pier, you can also visit other popular attractions there such as the Chicago Children’s Museum and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Off the pier you’ll find more restaurants from low-cost pubs to high-end establishments. Arts and culture aficionados should be sure not to miss the Museum of Contemporary Art.
