If you found New York too hectic then try Chicago. Has the big city feel without the hustle, great buildings and stunning views if you venture up the Willis Tower (ex Sears) or the Hancock. Lifts are not stomach churning as some guides say,Hancock has super dining on 2 levels, have lunch & take in the views of lake Michigan(sometimes... More

We were coming into the city for an event and we needed early check-in at the hotel. The woman I spoke with when I booked the room was super nice and she assured me that it wouldn’t be an issue. She also said that I should call the day of our reservation to let the staff know about our ETA... More

Room was great. the staff was very nice and helpful. Location was fantastic. I had the room service breakfast and it was really good. The bed was soft and I really enjoyed my stay. I was on business and would like to bring my wife here and stay here again.

Cool lobby, and bar are right off the entry from the street. Super friendly and helpful bell man, and reception desk, were happy to hold my luggage until my room was cleaned, as I showed up two hours early. She said she would page me within the hour. I went out to explore the neighborhood and took her recommendation on... More

Stayed at this hotel over St Patrick's Day weekend. I thought the bed was very comfy though the comforter and the sheets were built into one. So if you like the separation it is not there. The bathroom was gorgeous with a tv built right into the mirror. The shower was roomy and the water had a slight hint of... More

The Ivy Boutique Hotel is perfectly situated one and a half blocks off Michigan Avenue's Magnificent Mile. The King Suite was well appointed with large sitting area, great king bed area (both with large screen TV's) and a large bathroom with rain shower head and large soaking tub. The rooftop bar area had recently opened (weather dependent) and attracted quite... More

My wife and I stayed only 1night at The Ivy but it was fantastic! The staff was hospitable and accommodating. The King suite was amazing! I wish we could've spent a few more nights here. Skyview Terrace was a great warm up before hitting the town and the location is perfect. It's walking distance to many restaurants & attractions. We... More

I moved from Chicago 2.5 years ago and recently spent a weekend visiting with friends. Despite living in Chicago for 13 years, I didn't know anything about this hotel. When family and friends came to visit they usually stayed at the Fairmont or other hotels on Michigan Avenue. I booked this hotel based on the reviews, the location and the... More

I was there for the Microsoft tech event in Chicago. Internet at the hotel was whole week under maintenance. That was not acceptable now a days. Other than that, it is a regular boutique hotel. Nothing really special. You may like to stay bigger chain hotels if you are travelling for business.

Staying in Streeterville

Neighborhood Profile
Streeterville
Streeterville is where visitors head for play at Navy Pier, a pseudo amusement park and development of restaurants, shops, rides, and other activities. You’ll find lots of action and excitement on the docks. Along the pier, you’ll see the statue of the captain for whom Streeterville is named. While you enjoy your fair share of sightseeing at the pier, you can also visit other popular attractions there such as the Chicago Children’s Museum and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Off the pier you’ll find more restaurants from low-cost pubs to high-end establishments. Arts and culture aficionados should be sure not to miss the Museum of Contemporary Art.
