We wanted to express our extreme satisfaction with the stay at your hotel and with the staff - specifically Pedro and Jay were very kind, professional and knowledgeable (we were very tired, sort of disoriented and ready to enjoy Chicago for the one day stay) and Pedro and Jay exceeded our expectations of customer service. Pedro was extremely helpful with... More

VERY small and efficient rooms but so worth the location to Mag Mile and Loop. Friendly staff with self check-in help. There is a small restaurant bar which is so nice during Chicago's changing weather.

I asked for a river view upon check-in and my husband almost had a conniption as we walked into the room. Never been in a smaller one, that's for sure. But we made it work. I loved how we could get to lots of great places from the hotel. Free water, tea and coffee, mini-fridge, smaller (but decent) TV. Would... More

We've stayed here at least four tiimes. Only once, when the airconditioner was being serviced was the hotel anything but commendable. A room overlooking the river and Wacker Drive is always our request. We travel to Chicago from South Bend on the South Shore Railroad and it is an easy walk to the hotel from Millenium Station.

I stayed at River Hotel for 2 nights as I explored Chicago as a solo traveller. The room was small but perfectly formed for my needs. Unfortunately it did back on to what is currently a building site. Luckily the building regulations mean that time of work is controlled so it didn't really disturb me at all. The hotel is... More

Our stay was made very memorable by the incredible view of the Chicago River this hotel provided as well as a very pleasant stay in the hotel itself. We stayed on the 16th floor with an amazing view of the river. We chose a small room, but it was still well designed and comfortable. Great artwork! We appreciated the free... More

My husband and I stayed at the River hotel for 4 nights in May. The hotel is walking distance to Millennium Park, Chicago Art Institute and the metro. Our room was small but comfortable and the price is a bargain.

Jenny and I stayed at the River Hotel for a quick weekend getaway. Upon arrival we proceeded to the front desk where a young man named Pedro who was amazingly friendly and accommodating checked us into our room. This was our first visit to the downtown area and Pedro suggested a good steakhouse and made reservations for us. He also... More

I stay at this hotel every year for the International Telecoms Week conference, one block away at the Hyatt. This is a no nonsense hotel that is suitable for people who are not planning on spending much time at the hotel and want a reasonably-priced, central location with the basic amenities. Rooms are comfortable without being ostentatious; staff are well-trained;... More

My boyfriend and I booked a weekend in Chicago for a small getaway, and chose the River Hotel to stay. The location was amazing, we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go without taking a cab or driving anywhere. Parking is down the street a bit (about a 5 minute walk or less), and it kind of hard... More
