We were planning the trip of a lifetime, and Chicago was top of our list. We needed somewhere easily accessible to the airport and the city, so decided the cool neighbourhood of Logan Square was the answer, as it was on the Blue Line (rail) midway between the two. Longman and Eagle is a cool and funky bar/restaurant (specialising in... More

Put simply, you will absolutely not sleep in the hotel rooms (which are not cheap) offered by Longman & Eagle before 2am (later on weekends) because the restaurant and the very loud, rowdy bar are right below these rooms. In the one we had (the nicest one, #55) the bed was right above the bar's loudspeakers, which were blaring rock... More

I returned to Chicago for a vacation after having lived in Logan Square for 3 years. Longman and Eagle was the perfect spot for me - off the same stop I was accustomed to navigating from when I lived in Chicago, within stumbling distance of quality whiskey and great food. Cute rooms and they even provided 2 free drink tokens... More

I admit, I went on the forums on this very website to get some advice on where to stay. I don't want the norm, I don't want the tourist attractions, I want something amazing and interesting, and to explore cities how I want to explore them. Mainly this is bar hopping and trying great Craft Beers. At least one person... More

Staying at Longman & Eagle probably isn't for those who require a high level of service or a low level of noise, but I really enjoyed the chance to get out of the business district and into a lively Chicago neighborhood brimming with great restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and even a cool little movie theater. Room 43 was small as... More

Went here on a friends recommendation. We started with bourbon, as they are known for their bourbon selection. The bartender made an excellent choice. The Manhattans are great too. We then had a cornucopia of dishes. It was a splendid feast! Everything was great.

We stayed in room 76, which is very stylishly decorated with interesting amenities. The location is great in the Logan Square area and one of the few places to stay west of I-94 in the city. Another benefit is the ability to make a reservation at the excellent restaurant, which does not take reservations other than for inn guests. Unfortunately,... More

This is an excellent place to stay. We had one of the smallest rooms which was perfect. Very stylish & nice details like the retro tape player & interestingly stocked mini bar. Logan Sq is a great location, very easy to get to on the L train from the airport and for travelling downtown. There are several cool cafes and... More

My boyfriend and I arrived at Longman and Eagle late on our first evening utterly dejected because, while we were in America, our luggage was in Amsterdam. The staff were genuinely upset for us, and assisted us in drinking away our sorrows. They were also very helpful in receiving our bags when they finally arrived and their concern for us... More

Very cool "boutique" type hotel. Mix of industrial ,minimalist, and steampunk décor. Stayed there 2 nights on a weekend. It was a little loud one night. I had the large windows open and the room was right above the bar. Someone who works there drives a very loud motorcycle.. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Super convenient to... More
