The Sofitel Hotel was a great experience. I admire the professionalism of the staff and the french decor throughout the hotel. The rooms were a satisfying comfort, which made it easy to relax. I will definitely love to stay at The Sofitel Hotel again and recomend it to other friends, family, and associates.

The Sofitel Watertower is just behind the Magnificent Mile near the Watertower Plaza. It's a great location for shopping, but there are often weddings at the weekends which can feel a bit strange as a guest. Brilliant diner on the same block!

We spent 3 wonderful nights here staying in a junior suite. In keeping with the architectural heritage of Chicago the Sofitel is a distinctive building in the Chicago skyline. The interior design continues the post-modernist theme. Our room was one of the best hotel rooms we have ever stayed in. It was very stylish, modern and spacious. In keeping with... More

We had an amazing stay whilst in town to see a music festival. The room was wonderfully appointed, incredibly clean, excellent amenities, helpful staff, great food, fantastic location and genuinely comfortable beds. My wife and I travel a lot and find the bed and pillow combination can really effect our sleep and our trip. The Sofitel have got it blissfully... More

Had a blissful six days in September here staying in a junior suite. Was a little disappointed on entering the room to find that unlike the New York Sofitel the junior suite did not have separate sleeping and seating areas - just one (very) large room with both areas within it. However on experiencing the room over a few days... More

My wife and I spent four nights in this wonderful, very well located hotel in downtown Chicago recently. Staff were extremely helpful and courteous and our every request was met with a smile. Easy walking to many of Chicago's attractions and excellent restaurants makes for a hassle free break in this fabulous city. I wouldn't hesitate to return to the... More

The beds are soo comfortable. Travel quite often and I count these beds as one of only two hotels I have stayed in that have had beds this comfy. Couldn't beat the view either. Looking right at the Hancock building out our window. Didn't interact with staff much but the little we did was helpful. They even provided bandaids for... More

I stayed here in August, after missing a flight due to unbelievable traffic. I had been driving in from Wisconsin, and even though I allowed myself an extra couple of hours leeway, there had been an accident on the highway where gasoline spilled, the Air & Water Show was happening on the lakefront, and there was a Cubs game. After... More

Great service, really convenient location. It's literally less than a block from the Magnificent Mile and another block to the Lakefront Trail. The room was on the smaller side, but everything was modern and clean. We were on the 11th floor, and we had a really nice view of the city. We also had some great drinks at the bar... More

Staying in Gold Coast

Neighborhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
